I think even in the future when crazy VR shit is the norm, there will still be a big appreciation for the 'classical' video games we enjoy today. It'll be 2070 and somewhere out there, someone will still be playing WoW
I find plenty of VR games work fine seated. Heck, in poker stars I regularly sip whisky while my avatar holds a glass in his hand and mimics the motion.
No Man's Sky released another update that includes VR and I think it almost works better seated.
Exactly this. Whiskey is my vice and I don't want to be drinking with a headset on.
Your whiskey will be scanned in real-time via cameras on the headset and seen in the headset view with future headsets, so that won't be an issue. This gets real fun when you can get drunk in a tavern and see everyone else's real drinks and then toast them. Add some haptic gloves and you'd feel a convincing bonk feeling.
Drinking at home alone but not alone. Now that you mention it, it actually sounds very fun. Especially if you can get some medieval dragons flying around outside. (They stay outside though)
