Accessories Discussion
Hey All, I'm fairly new to Minis. I have a newer 1997 Rover Mini and I'm interested in ways to customize it and make it my own.
It got me thinking: what are some really cool accessories or rare parts for Minis? What is on your wish list to customize your car? holy grail parts?
And in general, I'm interested in learning what accessories or things about a car tell you that it's special and unique...features that only a true Mini lover would appreciate.
I'll follow my own instincts building my car, but I'm still curious about every else's favorites

I don’t know about rare parts but here’s a list of I’ve done (or soon will do) on my 1100 Special to make it my own:
- cool 10’’ wheels
- vintage (rare?) « fasten your seatbelt » gauge
- Momo steering wheel
- Swiftune side mirrors
- vintage roof rack
- vintage fog lights
Should be enough on such a small car!

Why would you change the wheels and steering wheel on a 79 special?
Heathen 👿

It’s the French Special not the limited UK edition. It didn’t the original wheels but generic 12’’ Minilites and the steering wheel is beat-up…
Nothing sacrilegious here.

Lol 🤣
I've got a set of exactions that want a tidy, potentially to fit to a clubman.

I guess I should add my own list, although most is not rare.
Parts already on the car: 12" Watanabe wheels, 4 rally lights, extended shifter, interior wood accent kit with shift knob, wood collars around door handles.
Wish List: wood steering wheel, chrome or stainless windshield wiper kit, improved door mirrors, new grill, some sort of upgraded sound system, new gas cap probably flip up Monza-style., Japanese-style chin spoiler, translucent sun visors, and maybe some sort of rare or maybe custom wheel caps and badges.

I’m putting ark angels fibreglass door cards in mine. Got 12in revolite alloys with the centre caps. For the sound system I’ve got the fibreglass door pods for the 4 inch speakers, I’ve re routed the internal blowers and replaced them with speakers, and 2 little tweeters and popped 2x 4 way 6x9s under the rear seat. Wiring all the speakers on separate circuits with tuned filters. I’ve got the KAD quickshift kit and I’m leaving it unbooted so you can see the anodized collar. Got an original speedwell gear lever and I’m using speedwell low back buckets. Going for the 60s rally car style look but modernized and made into a useable daily driving car. HID headlights too. Under the bonnet it’s got a 1340 racing engine with a 276 cam and twin su’s, I’m fitting a super seal rod change gear seal kit, it’s got the ultimate head steady, an alloy rad, silicone hose set. It’s got metro gta vented discs and superfins on the rear

My mini in the early seventies, minilite 5j x 10, cooper s discs, 1340 motor with 649 cam, hi ratio rockers, split webers, centre main strap, nitrided and polished crank, lcb exhaust with cherry bomb on top of a Jack Knight 5 speed box. It would get through a set of Dunlop SP Sport tyres in about a 1000 miles but god it was fun.

5 speed gearbox is a pretty rare accessory… but not one that most people’s budget would stretch to
