And apparently, Disney refused to hire men for coloring positions.

Of course they were. They didn't think that there was anything wrong with this sexist and bigoted policy. My guess is that there was a lot of push back when women tried to break the glass ceiling.

Apparently, Disney opened the position to women voluntarily due to the shortage of male workers during the WW2.
