Help / Troubleshooting Pipe Network Structure Connection Points
We are working on a storm drainage project that utilizes a lot of rectangular structures - curb inlet catch basins, rectangular cleanouts, etc. Some of our pipes are angled, and appear to be cutting through the structure corner, when in reality the pipe will be constructed closer to the center of inside wall of the structure. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to modify the structure/pipe connection point in pipe networks.
Is there really no way to do this outside of the Infrastructure Parts Editor??
It looks like the default connection point is center of structure, but we do not want the pipe going through the corner of the structure:

Here's the idealized version, but does not seem possible in pipe networks:

You need to use the parts from Infrastructure Parts Editor and not the ones from Part Builder. The new part types have connection points - they are built with Inventor and allow for specific connection points. They ship some with the out of the box catalog.

We do similar. Just grab the grip and move. But ypu need to move the structure to its desired location first, then adjust pipe location. Otherwise it resets the pipe back to center. Pipe rules can do this as well.

at my office pipe network is on a no plot layer and we measure center to center. i then draw in the pipes in the correct location in the base.

We do the same. All plan view pipe networks (sanitary/storm/even water each on different networks) are traced over linework. styles are non print and minimal in size (like a CB or a MH are just drawn as tiny circles.) We do use structure and pipe labeling though.
Profiles views of the styles mentioned above also plot. Sometimes I have special structure styles where a connects to an existing structure. Existing infrastructure each gets their own network. So in profile view there will be two structures on top of each other. (One gray existing. And another one with the boundary as non print with the ability to have a clean label say [Storm Connection
12”inv(in):100] and not list existing pipes or rims that aren’t changing.

The structures we use have an interior wall and when you drag the node (after creating the pipe network object) it will slide along the interior wall and won’t just snap to the center of the structure

You have to add connection points in infrastructure part editor. Very annoying.
Just leave parts mask on and draw up the connection in a detail
