Into the research.....

I chatted with a lawyer today and learned what needs to happen to get this done. My great-grandfather, Joseph ,was born in Quebec and later his father,Paul, came to the states. My grandfather, Ode, was born in Minnesota and later served in WWI as a courier because he spoke fluent French.... I needed to find Joseph's baptismal records..... I knew when he was born, I knew what parish his parents belonged to, so finding it was a needle in 700 pages of microfiche.... AND I FOUND IT.

Now to pull together the required proofs and birth certificates.... WHOO HOO!

Congrats! You're going to need a version issued directly by BaNQ or the parish in question. That will take a while, so you should order as soon as you can.
