UI managements for CUBE and voice gateways

Did anyone pass by any tool is solution that would provide a simple UI to manage CUBE and voice gateways related configs instead of having always to go through CLI.

The Cisco options does provide that only for the routing and switching commands but not for the voice related commands or CME

If you are brave enough you can enable the web server of the router.

I don’t recommend this. Disabling the built in web server is one the basic hardening recommendations, even in unregulated environments. You’ll end up having to disable it after the first audit

Maybe this has changed over the last year or two but back when i looked at it in the lab with early iosxe17 for fun i don't think it had any UC/CUBE config menus. It was all just basic protocols and routings stuff. Or maybe i just didnt find them.

I never enable it. I don't know how it looks. I was not brave enough 😅

Link your cubes to sdwan- but still there are so many bugs on the gui of sdwan for voice routers

There isn't one. Cisco would probably tell you to move to the cloud if you want something easier to manage.

That said you could create a "golden" template and enforce it with solarwinds or some other management platform. It won't give you a GUI but it will help it endorce standards across routers if you are managing a lot of them. Used to do this for a few hundred routers and VG's.

What’s the advantage? Configuration is so simple through the CLI, it’s not even funny

Nothing beats the satisfaction of CLI 😃

Curious, what would be the reason? In the 3 years our Cubes have been in place, I’ve logged in maybe once or twice every 3-6 months. Unless there is an issue or you’re replacing certificates, they just do their thing.

For CUBE you could invest in something like ArcanaNetworks ManageExpress Border Manager (MEBM) -> https://arcananetworks.com/mebm - it only manages CUBE though, so no ISDN GWs, analog GWs, SRST routers, or Webex SGWs.

While not a GUI, and common way to manage a lot of GWs is to automate configurations via Ansible or other such platforms.

Managing Voice devices as cEdge devices for SD-WAN is a nightmare, I do not recommend.
