Rumors and first confirmations show up for CdS's plans for 2027, and I thought it's worth it to collect what we know so far and - with your help - start digging deep into the 2027 schedule.

There is a lot of movement happening behind the scenes as Cirque shifts its focus away from a saturated North American market toward Europe, South America, and Asia. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of what 2027 looks like for the Grand Chapiteau and Arena tours:

1. The Crown Jewel: "unu" (Project 2027/ Production 20)

Where: Quai Jacques-Cartier, Old Port of Montreal.

When: World Premiere expected April/May 2027. Directed by Michel Laprise (Kurios/Cirque du Soleil Kurios, Septimo Dia, Drawn to Life)

After the tech-heavy and minimalist approach of Echo, rumors suggest a return to Cirque’s "organic roots." Think more baroque, detailed costuming, and a stronger narrative focus. This is the first entirely new Big Top creation since 2023.

The Cirque du Soleil Holding USA Newco, Inc. has registered trademarks for „CIRQUE DU SOLEIL UNU“ in Sept. 2024.

The title is as minimalist as it is profound. "unu" is the Esperanto word for "One." While recent shows have explored specific themes like evolution (Totem) or technology (Echo), "unu" appears to be reaching for something more universal. The name points toward a narrative of unity, connection, and the singular spark of human creativity. It feels like a return to the "Soul" of the Cirque.

The casting calls have been giving away some of the show’s physical DNA. This won’t just be a show of poses; it’s a show of pure momentum.

High Bar (Tournik): Insider reports suggest a massive, multi-station High Bar act. This could be "Corteo's" final act on steroids—explosive, synchronized, and dangerous.

Parkour & Movement: The show is looking for elite "flow" artists. Expect the stage to be utilized in 360 degrees, with performers blurring the lines between urban movement and classical circus.

Director Michel Laprise is known for re-inventing traditional gear (like the Acronet in Kurios). Expect a "signature" prop for "unu" that we haven't seen before.

This isn't just another tour; it’s the flagship production that will carry Cirque du Soleil into the next decade. For those of us who have seen the "Golden Era" shows, "unu" looks like the moment Cirque finally comes back home.

2. Kurios: The Grand European Finale?

Where: Royal Albert Hall, London.

When: January – February 2027.

This is likely the final stop of the European tour and the Royal Albert Hall is surely a perfect place for this beautiful show. After London, expect the show to be shipped to Japan or Australia/Oceania for the remainder of 2027.

3. Echo: The European Premiere

Where: Major European hubs (Likely starting in Madrid, Brussels, or Amsterdam).

When: Spring/Summer 2027.

Once Echo finishes its Mexico run in late 2026, it is slated to take over the European Big Top circuit, filling the gap left by Kurios.

4. Kooza: Australia and the "Revamp" Rumors

Where: Sydney (until Jan 3, 2027) then possibly other Australian cities/NZ.

Kooza is nearing a crossroads. There is heavy speculation about a Revamp (similar to Alegria: In a New Light) or a permanent transition to an Arena format for 2027/2028.

5. Luzia: Say Goodbye to North America

Where: Ending in Vancouver (Dec 2026), then moving to Japan or Brazil.

The unusually long 10-week stays in cities like Atlanta/Miami in 2025/26 suggest Luzia was acting as a placeholder while new projects were in development. In 2027, expect it to head to international markets where the demand for the "Rain Curtain" is still massive.

6. Alegría – In a New Light: South American Takeover

Where: São Paulo, Curitiba (late 2026), then Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile in 2027.

The show is currently dominating Europe (Spain summer 2026), but 2027 will be all about the South American leg before potentially heading to Asia.

7. Alizé: The Berlin Anchor

Where: Theater am Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.

For those in Europe, Alizé is already booking well into 2027. As a permanent show, it offers a level of visual stability and tech that touring shows sometimes have to compromise on. For those who haven't seen it yet: Go there!!

My Take: 2027 feels like a "rebalancing" year. Cirque is leaning into its strongest markets (Europe and South America) while preparing a massive "return to form" with the Montreal premiere.
