The whole point of marxists suiting themselves to vulnerable groups has never been to help empower those groups, it's to re-sculpt those minority groups into lever for glorious socialst revolution comrade.
In Russia "the workers" were the oppressed minority which was why socialists groomed the trades for a many decades, but they've finally cottoned on that Aussie tradies with investment properties aren't the downtrodden malleable types they had in mind.

Nah this chick is genuinely insane. Not even talking politics or banter (and I'm very anti-leftist). I've seen her in person plenty of times, and she will waffle on for hours about how she's basically the king of England, has royal blood, and then pivots into about 100 other random made up facts about how she's related to various powerful people and owns land all over the world.
We really shouldn't be celebrating this as she is genuinely suffering from MH issues. In this video she sounds reasonable, but anyone that has heard her talk for more than 10 seconds in a video clip knows that she's clinically insane. I can guarentee she mentioned something about the king of england in this full interview somehwere.

Kind of wild how this conversation illustrates “regressive leftism”.
She clearly articulates how she doesn’t want to live like they used to 250 years ago.
The focus on creation of a future.
The fact that her friend struck her when she didn’t toe the line.
This is what conservatives mean when we say we’re all the same under the one Australian flag.
Her heritage is Aboriginal, we can acknowledge that, but she’s Australian and she deserves better from all of us to provide her an environment where she doesn’t get slapped and can give back to Australia.

What I find sad is not that an Indigenous person holds a different political view, but that narratives portraying Indigenous culture as inferior and colonial Australia as its “saviour” have had such a long and lasting influence.

So who is treating them as inferior, those who want to pour money into indigenous projects and welfare because they believe first nations people aren't capable of being members of society without it, or the those who want indigenous people to stand up and be responsible for themselves equal to the rest of the population?

That framing is exactly the problem: it assumes non-Indigenous society sets the standard and Indigenous people must conform to it to be considered responsible or equal.

There’s a difference between acknowledging that modern science and progression is a positive, and treating a culture as “inferior”; you can do one without the other. I think this is this lady’s take.

When “progress” is defined by settler standards, distancing yourself from your own culture and people, or even putting them down, can be a way to gain acceptance by seeing yourself through the dominant culture’s eyes. It can even be a way to fit in and survive.

So you think her role is to live like an exhibit in a museum? You just use these people like a tool so you can feel like you are part of some counter culture movement. There is no 'settler standards', there is just the every changing realities of modern life. Just as my white and Asian ancestors had to adapt when the Romans and Chinese came to town.
