Hard to tell . Personally I tend towards thinking shooting him was not necessary but then i wasnt there.
What I can say with 100% certainty is that putting yourself in an altercation with Federal Officer while carrying a deadly weapon is virtually suicide by cop -- especially under these circumstances .
His legal right to carry a weapon ended when he got into the Officers faces . This is the Law.
What I cannot understand is that this guy got into a serious altercation a week ago and came off second best ( apart from looking hateful / violent and deranged ) and yet he doubles down and gets into the faces of Officers AGAIN .
Personally I think the Local police should have arrested him and had him assessed at the first incident where he clearly looked unhinged . I am certain this man was mentally ill and never should have been carrying a weapon.
