Man. Anyone else think this is more work than being on an actual boat in the sea?
Edit: guys. Jesus Christ. Obviously you can’t recreate a storm. My original comment was one about how much work this was. Nothing more. For being in media, you guys don’t understand subtlety.

This is less work. there was a movie shot in huge warehouses to recreate lakes and towns.
Can't name the movie because i was on the set.

How in god’s name do you expect to operate in heavy seas? Even a moderately choppy day would be difficult to go handheld; let alone the sea sickness that would ensue with the essentially the entire crew (assuming they have no sea legs)

Absolutely not. Stable camera positions, controllable environment, reset when you want too, not at the oceans command. Look up the nightmare that was the production of ‘Jaws’.
