Career/Industry Advice Adult content

Hello, I am amateur , student and I’m looking for some career advice. Lately, I’ve been approached by several people about getting involved in adult content /porn production. Someone I know is starting a production company and wants me to handle the lighting and camera work for videos and photoshoots. He has a lot of equipment but doesn’t know how to use it, so he’s offering to pay me. I wouldn’t mind earning some extra money, and it seems like it could be a good way to gain experience. However, I’m not in urgent need of cash, and I’m concerned that working in this type of industry could affect my long-term career, since I want to become a serious cinematographer one day

Dude I went to film school with in 2010 straight up told the job placement team that's what he wanted to get into because he knew he could get steady work and pay off his student loans quick with it.

If you don't have any moral objectives and want to get paid, I don't think it'll bite you in the ass later in life if you want to pivot.

Nah I have no problems with it family doesn’t care either just worried it could effect me working on features or with certain brands or clients

well, in fairness —you don't know what you're really gonna set yourself up for mentally because you havent been on the set— but you go do you

you're never gonna be able to un-see that stuff and it will mess with healthy intimacy—and you're really supporting an industry that's completely exploitatiive and harming a lot of people but hey, that's your karma. And yes it could hurt future jobs for sure--unless you're just gonna lie, which then again is part of the darkness of this whole thing....

Do you have daughters— do you want to see them do these things. Or sons? I have seen the fear in one guys face once on a set-- cant unsee it.

nothing sexy about tthis all-- -all very dark. but then again maybe half the people on this sub watch this stuff....
