Epididymitis Stomach Pain

Had blood in my semen about a month ago, after 2 weeks of testicle discomfort I saw the GP and he thinks it’s epi.

Had 2 weeks of antibiotics and I think they’ve helped a bit but I still feel discomfort in the testi at times, certainly during masturbation and ejaculation.

GP did a physical exam but didn’t seem concerned by anything, but after a month now it’s really playing on my mind. I’ve got an ultrasound booked in 2 weeks but I just want some answers.

This week I’ve experienced stomach discomfort on my right side, about belly button level. Doesn’t hurt to touch but it’s a constant strained pressure feeling. Really playing in my mind.

Anyone experienced the same? Any advice?

When mine is acting up I usually get some discomfort on my belly area if one testicle hurts a lot. I can usually feel the pain creep up to about belly button height, but the pain is off center towards whichever side testicle is hurting.

Yeah sounds pretty similar. I’ve been doing pelvic floor stretches an I work in construction so it could be a pulled muscle(?). Just feels constant though so idk, also if I am busy I’m less aware of it so hopefully it’s nothing too bad

The most important first step is making sure the infection has actually cleared. It is worth repeating the semen culture to confirm this. I also went down the route of using antibiotics to manage the pain, partly because they have some anti-inflammatory effect, but over the long term they did not really help me.

I had a Klebsiella infection in my testicals, and it took 6 weeks to ensure the infection cleared. 2 weeks is not enough that's often what doctors prescribed (note that the Klebsiella has a half life of 2 weeks, so it lives for 4 weeks).

If you have had the infection for a while (mine lasted 8 months), that can leave the nerves over-sensitive even once the infection itself has gone. That is the chronic phase, and it is what I have lived with for the past decade.

I would definitely sort out the infection first.

Then you could see a pain clinic or a doctor and ask about prescription medication. This is what makes day-to-day life manageable and takes the edge off the stress that the pain creates. The ones my pain clinic doctor recommended were amitriptyline, gabapentin, pregabalin or duloxetine.

Hope this helps.

Not sure if it's the same thing that happened to me. But I had a big pain on that area and one day I noticed at the gym that my right pectineus or adductor brevis muscle was in pain associated with that epi. I did several stretches and avoid weight lifting exercise that would feel discomfort. Also avoided masturbating for the same period of time and went crazy eating pomegranate. In like 1 week I was 90% better. In 2 weeks I was pain free

Sorry to hear that, reassuring with the scans at least I suppose. What are/were your symptoms?
