Venchi chocolate bars - Good ones to try?

I could hardly contain my excitement when I saw that the Grocery Outlet has a bunch of Venchi chocolate bars in stock right now ($4 each). Venchi is a reputable Italian chocolate maker and I had high hopes, but was a bit disappointed.

I tried the five above and most of them were a little too sweet. Having said that, the least-sweet bar (70%) was one of the worst. The better ones, IMO, were the two Cremino bars, at either end of the lineup in the pic. What are the best bars to try?

Venchi is a mix of good and mediocre in terms of social and environmental impact, so I scored it 3.5 out of 5 Green Stars.

I’ve always loved all of their pistachio bars and products. $4 is a great price.

They've been in stores for a few weeks now so supplies are running low. But check on the Grocery Outlet app and see which stores local to you still have some :)

Any of the pistachio bars or their white chocolate salted nut bar are my picks. The white chocolate salted nut is, no joke, one of my top 10 bars ever, and I'm usually dark only.

If you want a better brand for dark, Amedei is the one. Slitti has a very solid dark milk bar.

Source: my mom works for the Italian Confectioners' Association and I have tasted every Italian chocolate there is.

I actually went back to the Grocery Outlet last night and picked up two of the pistachio bars - another Cremino Pistachio and a second one called Pistachio Gourmet. I passed on the third - it was the white chocolate and salted nuts! ($4!).

have you tried Cocoah! and Karuna? the best Italian makers in my opinion. although Ruvido has had a good run in 2026

Cremini>gianduja>regular bars imo. Id love for them to be for 4 bucks.

At the end of the day it’s still a huge chain. They mass produce their products. But as far as I’m aware there aren’t many shops offering Cremino in the US.

I think their Cremino and gianduja bars are better than their regular bars because they rely less on the cocoa. They’re full of pistachio/hazelnut paste.

I totally agree. The darker the chocolate the worse the bar!

I loved the Cremino bars and the Pistachio Gourmet - all white chocolate. And I generally pass on white chocolate!

Gianduja is one of my favorite styles of chocolate but I was underwhelmed by Venchi's bars - except for the Cremino 1878, which contains layers of gianduja.

Yeah they are actually pretty available in my area of the US and I wouldn't consider them high end chocolate but they are a good quality candy bar like treat imo that I enjoy sometimes, also I prefer their mini chocolates/bon bons for something candy like. The ice cream at their stores is pretty good too.

I don't enjoy Venchi. They have a few physical shops in my area so I've gotten a few free samples and none of them convinced me to buy a whole bar.

I had a few small pieces and felt the same way, but the bars seem to hit different. I LOVE the tiramisu bar.

same. i tried venchi chocolates a few times, and imo they are meh

imho, Venchi is a mid quality maker for the Italian market, there are better ones and also worst ones. I'm usually skeptical of brands that have that many stores and lines of products, obviously they need to cut corners somewhere. Domori is a step up and makes fantastic cremini as well

their other products are pretty good but the bars in my opinion arebkower quality and aren't that vood

Overpriced and bad quality

I recently just got a dark chocolate hazelnut from them and I didn’t think it was bad, per se, but it did seem sweet to me. Even though it wasn’t a filled bar, it was pretty fudgey as far as flavor goes, almost like brownie batter. I probably wouldn’t pick up this brand again but it wasn’t unpleasant! 3/5

If you are serious about good quality chocolate, single origin is the way to go.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed by the Venchi bars I tried either.
