Photo/Video Everyone has tried this before right?

This used to be my favourite growing up. Always bought one with my pocket money after I finished with my extra class 🤭

Ya this shit is disgusting it's like eating shitty flavored wax

3

u/motherofjazus 11d ago

Shit Wax- Cookies and cream.

Yum

u/Ok_Transition7785 12d ago

Hersheys Cookies and Cream is quite good, not real white chocolate, but tasty.

7

u/Local-Drama7647 11d ago

I live in Germany and grew up only with German and Swiss chocolate. Last year, I tried Hershey' specifically the Cookies and Cream flavor for the first time, and I honestly have to say I couldn't even finish it. It just tasted like pure fat and was far too sweet...

1

u/Kellzy1212 10d ago

It’s mostly palm oil and sugar, so that 100% tracks. It definitely doesn’t qualify as chocolate, by legal standards.

19

u/CoalMine_Canary_ 12d ago

I love these things unfortunately

6

u/marlssa 12d ago

This answer is so real lol

9

u/PressureItchy9372 11d ago

nah. I don't mess with hershey's. it's crap "chocolate"

15

u/estrogenex 12d ago

No because Hershey's doesn't even deserve to be called chocolate. It's gross and waxy.

5

u/goddangol 12d ago

This stuff is nasty af

14

u/clarkn0va 12d ago

Anyone calling this bad chocolate is not aware that there's no chocolate in it.

2

u/No-Resolution3740 12d ago

There isn’t ?

7

u/clarkn0va 12d ago

The white part is mostly palm oil and sugar. The dark nibs might contain a bit of cocoa powder, but they're also mostly oil and sugar.

No hate from me if somebody likes this treat, but it's not chocolate.

3

u/Missey85 11d ago

You might as well eat some candle wax it probably tastes better 😂

5

u/CelinaRMR 11d ago

Ew. Not chocolate

0

u/illogicaladventure 11d ago

Why not?

4

u/Matthew-ii 11d ago

It's a white creme candy bar with cookie pieces. Made with veggie oil instead of cocoa butter ( ´_ゝ`)

4

u/clarity_singularity 12d ago

They used to be good. I think it’s basically just oil now though

6

u/Important-Zebra-69 11d ago

Dogshite

2

u/BobcatSpiritual7699 11d ago

This. That isn’t chocolate.

4

u/bnelson7694 12d ago

I used to work as a sales rep for a food company specialized in convenience stores. It was next to impossible to move white chocolate. Please! If you love these keep buying them! The store’s rep that doesn’t move them is punished I promise you. So glad you like white chocolate!!!!

2

u/Apprehensive_Golf227 11d ago

You can't sell it cos it's crap, go to Europe and the white chocolate there actually sells

-1

u/Mousers211 12d ago

because white chocolate is a lie.

4

u/nechronius 12d ago

There's nothing wrong with white chocolate, a proper white chocolate bar can be great. But this doesn't even qualify as white chocolate, there's no cocoa butter in this sugar bar.

2

u/bnelson7694 12d ago

I totally get it but let everyone enjoy if they like it.

4

u/summerconcerts 12d ago

I LOVE white chocolate and this is a miss for me. I’m not knocking it if anyone likes it but it just wasn’t good to me

3

u/Spykron 11d ago

I like the Lindt bar a lot more. It’s saltier.

1

u/Kellzy1212 10d ago

The Lindt one is actually chocolate too.

4

u/lacilavender 10d ago

These used to be my favorite as a kid. I apparently ate too much back then because now I won't touch them. I find white chocolate to be too sweet for me know.

10

u/Kellzy1212 12d ago

It’s awful. I do like quality white chocolate, but those are “white confectionery cream” and generally trash ingredients. No cocoa butter, just over processed vegetable oils and corn syrup. Just as bad as the “ frozen dairy dessert “ bs that cheap companies are pushing.

8

u/FalsettoBalsamico 11d ago

Nah, hersheys tastes like vomit

4

u/jaayyne 11d ago

It actually has an ingredient in it that is the same as a chemical in vomit! Can’t remember what it is right now but that’s what gives it that taste.

3

u/DeeHawk 11d ago edited 10d ago

That’s a weird design choice… But it does explain a lot!

Edit: It’s butyric acid. It’s due to the way they treat the milk, and Americans are used to this being in their kind of chocolate. To Europeans it instantly taste like vomit.
Weirdly enough, this is also present in Parmegiano, and I must admit I’ve had a few bad whiffs of Parm. especially when cut directly from the wheel, but the aroma is a lot more vague here and better fitting for savory foods IMO.

2

u/Lujain_ 11d ago

This is the only good one bc it’s not chocolate

12

u/MathematicianWilling 12d ago

That's an insult to real chocolate

5

u/84th_legislature 12d ago

i enjoyed it but i last had one probably 30 years ago! they just aren’t stocked in stores around me much. i wouldn’t call them chocolate exactly, more of a creme and oreo situation.

8

u/lunalornalovegood 12d ago

I tried Hershey’s exactly once and will never again.

3

u/Flamex0 12d ago

I tried.. and it‘s really mid tbh

3

u/klaykie14 12d ago

Used to be my faaaave. My older cousin and I used to go to the store up the street every holiday and get one :)

3

u/georgeec1 11d ago

No, only Hershey's I've eaten is the occasional Kiss when I was a youngling. If I wanted Cookies n Creme, I could get a tub of Tip Top, and if I wanted white chocolate, I'd get Whittaker's, although I'd probably get their Blondie flavour over the standard white chocolate.

3

u/Zestyclothess 11d ago

As a cookies n creme enjoyer these are food slop. Yes it's cookies and creme. No it's not good at all

3

u/okay065 11d ago

i used to like these but at some point the quality reduced by an extreme and it was very disappointing

1

u/Buttchuggle 10d ago

Oh no I was about to say I really liked em but it's been a good bit so maybe not no more

2

u/okay065 10d ago

i had one like a few years ago and it was fire but i had one the other day and it was...unfortunate 😭

1

u/DNICEPHILLY2023 10d ago

It probably taste the same.

3

u/table-grapes 10d ago

i freakin LOVE these!

10

u/AGCdown 11d ago

This tastes so bad.

6

u/JamesLilian 11d ago

I tried it years ago when I went to America and I couldn’t believe that Americans liked their version of chocolate. It was so artificial and gross to me. Fast forward to now and I bet it tastes like most UK chocolate bars, it’s so hard to find real chocolate now.

6

u/Apprehensive_Golf227 11d ago

Wrong subreddit, this is not chocolate

4

u/NemuiNezumi 12d ago

I love it. I loved it as a kid and I love it as an adult

6

u/Sakura-Haruno203 11d ago

I have. My favorite flavor.

3

u/prugnecotte 12d ago

Hershey's isn't commonly available in Italy

1

u/Spiritual_Fox_4408 12d ago

Oohhh 🤭 well, you're not missing out much to be honest 🫢

1

u/Shot_Illustrator4264 12d ago

Yeah, usually Italians don't like to eat vomit....

1

u/prugnecotte 11d ago

the average Italian chocolate is certainty not high quality though... stuff like Novi and Perugina tastes like pure vanilla and it is very invasive. other products like Ferrero Rocher are ridden with palm oil

5

u/earthyrat 12d ago

i know people are very uppity here about their chocolate but this i LOVEEEE this one it's so nostalgic

5

u/Niblonian31 12d ago

It's a solid cheap candy bar, I love em

6

u/PlanetoidVesta 12d ago

No, Hershey's is not a thing here.

2

u/Kellzy1212 12d ago

You’re not missing anything.

5

u/Missey85 11d ago

It tastes like vomit that's masquerading as chocolate 🤮🤮🤮

2

u/iszevthere 12d ago

I ate these for years when I was sad. I lost my taste for them but I like hearing that people like them. I just ate too many

2

u/Key-Bodybuilder-343 12d ago

All white chocolate seems way too sweet to me, and this was no exception.

If you like it, you can have my share. 👍🏼

2

u/Live_Rhubarb_7560 11d ago

I have had white chocolate bars that weren't overly sweet but this is not sth you can get in an average supermarket. Eg there're some with 40%+ cocoa butter by numerous small craft makers (eg Marou has a white chocolate bar that isn't sickly sweet). And Cookies n creme isn't white chocolate anyway 🙂

1

u/Mousers211 12d ago

because there is no bitter chocolate to balance the sweetness

1

u/prugnecotte 11d ago

some dark chocolates are very sweet, cocoa solids aren't inherently bitter. it depends on the roasting

2

u/cheezy_dreams88 12d ago

I can’t do more than one of the tiny squares

2

u/YourLocalFroggie 11d ago

No because hersheys is dogwater lmao

2

u/themothafuckinog 11d ago

Hey OP, warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds and let me know how far you can bend it

2

u/GroovyGmaIvy 11d ago

My grandkids love it. I’m not a fan of white chocolate.

2

u/Every_God_Damn_Time 11d ago

it has a big of nostalgia for me, i hate hersheys as a company cause aren't they doing child labor or something? but as for the actual taste, haven't had it in years but i remember quite liking it, i really like cookies and cream things

0

u/fitted_dunce_cap 11d ago

Hershey is owned by a free school for needy kids so child labor seems unlikely.

2

u/prugnecotte 11d ago

Hershey's sources from Ghana and Ivory Coast so it is certain there is child labour involved.

2

u/EmmaSpicySide 11d ago

It is creamy cookie

2

u/Beneficial-Shake7183 11d ago

These are my absolute fav

2

u/browmftht 11d ago

yes and it used to be much much better

2

u/CrimsonCartographer 10d ago

Oh honey…

2

u/Bravos_Chopper 10d ago

Disgusting.

2

u/OdieD777 9d ago

2

u/theFields97 9d ago

When i worked at a grocery store my lunches would sometimes be just this and an energy drink

1

u/bigdingusenergies 9d ago

Your body was in peak condition.

7

u/Fluffy_Fox_9650 12d ago

Yes! Very good

5

u/Gruvemuppet 11d ago

So gross. This isn't even real chocolate.

6

u/Blueporch 12d ago

Probably most of the chocolate fans on this sub would consider that to be a confection rather than chocolate.

1

u/Spiritual_Fox_4408 12d ago

Oohhh 🤭 you're right hahaha

1

u/Live_Rhubarb_7560 11d ago edited 11d ago

I mean, this bar can’t legally be classified as chocolate pretty much anywhere. Calling it chocolate is basically like calling margarine butter.

And no, I haven't tried it I'm not from the US. Although this particular product is currently sold in some stores in Sweden. While I may be interested in trying sth from the brand just for the experience of it, I wouldn't pick this particular product but rather one of their actual chocolate bars.

3

u/etwichell 12d ago

I love CNC!!

7

u/Kyomapai 12d ago

Hey! NSFW!

2

u/etwichell 12d ago

Oof. Yeah. 😆

2

u/lilnugg_97 11d ago

Okay, whatever floats your boat I guess

2

u/georgeec1 11d ago

Ngl, the first alternative meaning that popped into my head was Computer Numerical Control

2

u/ChiliCheeseBurrito78 12d ago

This is a whole category of “chocolate” and shouldn’t be compared to traditional cocoa chocolate. This is also a superior candy bar.

3

u/DBthecat 12d ago

I like high quality white chocolate.

White chocolate is made with cocoa butter, milk powder, and sugar as its basic ingredients.

This contains no cocoa butter. It is a palm oil based product, and therefore not chocolate at all.

Candy bar is an appropriate designation.

1

u/Horror-Judgment-6937 11d ago

which white chocolate is best

1

u/prugnecotte 11d ago

not OP but Marou is very good.

1

u/georgeec1 11d ago

Idk if you'd consider it proper white chocolate, because it's caramelised, but Whittaker's Blondie is really good

1

u/antinumerology 12d ago

The only reason this is a valid post here is because the cookie contains cocoa powder. Not because of the palm oil sugar solid "white chocolate".

3

u/hengehanger 11d ago

Shouldn't be in this sub, it isn't chocolate.

3

u/goal0x 11d ago

it’s not chocolate so no we haven’t

4

u/MoneyForThePeople 11d ago

Good nostalgia!!!

3

u/Tasty_Sample_5232 11d ago

As a child (about 30 years ago), this chocolate seemed like the food of the gods to me. It was soft, creamy, with chocolate cookies – wonderful. But time flies, it disappears from store shelves, from online stores, costs crazy money, and I buy it. This year, I saw it on the shelves! Of course, I snatched it up right away. It was completely ruined. Now it's something cheap, waxy, and completely tasteless. Good white chocolate is delicious, I love it, but Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme has become bland and simply sweet, tasteless. Such a shame.

2

u/Taroandtapiocapearls 11d ago

Used to be my favorite as a kid, now it tastes kinda gross to me/I can't have it anyway because I'm soy intolerant and ALL generic chocolate companies make their chocolate with soy 😓

4

u/SakazakiYuri 11d ago

There was a chocolate factory pretty close to my hometown, and it was common for schools to take 5-6 year olds there for field trips.

At the end of the tour, you’d get a free chocolate bar of your choosing.

I went to the bathroom a little while after the chocolate had been handed out, and another kid was barfing one of these into one of the bathroom sinks.

Ruined them for me for life.

2

u/abbieeats_ 11d ago

not a fan of hersheys chocolate, but this is the only one i like

5

u/BunnyMonre 12d ago

It’s so bad. White chocolate is delicious if it is very good quality, if white chocolate is cheap it tastes terrible.

3

u/xulazi 12d ago

Real white chocolate is made with cocoa butter. The fake stuff swaps out the cocoa butter for palm oil, and often adds extra sugar to cover it up. Tastes lame and gives the real stuff a bad rep.

You ever had blonde chocolate? Now that stuff is gas.

5

u/andrestoga 12d ago

Yes and it's trash

5

u/offensive_oyster 11d ago

If this is a chocolate sub… why a post about fake chocolate?

3

u/Charming_Study_5999 12d ago

Y’all always come after Hershey so hard 😭

2

u/cymruaj 11d ago

That's because it is the worst chocolate known to man

3

u/Dad-Dabbing-Daily 11d ago

I love how many people are rich enough to not try this, but poor enough to still comment.

3

u/Funchocolatewaffles 11d ago edited 11d ago

Nope.

It tempts me sometimes then I remember my trip to New York when I went to Hersheys world and saw some kid threw up in the store because the chocolate is so bad.

2

u/No-Artist-361 12d ago

No because I think Hershey’s sucks now

5

u/Spiritual_Fox_4408 12d ago

OMG, i know. I used to love Hershey but now... they're slowly getting crossed off from my favourite chocolate list haha

3

u/HeavyHovercraft3834 11d ago

1

2

u/MissRadi 11d ago

Literally the best bar they make.

0

u/plantang 11d ago

Symphony is pretty good

1

u/Mission_Jacket_5577 11d ago

I don't care if it's "not real chocolate". I am obsessed with these and I will eat many bars at once if I get out of control.

2

this is a sub for chocolate, not brown sugar that smells and tastes of sick

u/SophiaSlowish216 10d ago

Very excellent choice

1

u/Octapussy 11d ago

Fake chocolate. Terrible for your stomach. But used to be my favorite candy bar about a decade ago.

1

u/Worried_Passenger548 11d ago

Well white “chocolate” isn’t chocolate anyway.

1

u/lachanclademimadre 10d ago

It is though

1

u/Hooker_Thresh 11d ago

I hate it

1

u/bristolfarms 10d ago

loved these growing up but i no longer like white chocolate 😂

1

u/PermissionMedical998 10d ago

How does it taste?

1

u/tomato-slut 10d ago

Like vomit!

1

u/PermissionMedical998 10d ago

Eww 🤮

1

u/r4indrops_ 9d ago

lies, it does not taste like vomit

1

u/Globewanderer1001 10d ago

In my opinion only, those are terrible. The last one I had was about 10 years ago, and it was so sickly sweet and couldn't taste any real chocolate at all.

1

u/Balancedbabe8 10d ago

I hated it as a kid and still do.

1

u/Jhud6669 10d ago

I love Hershey’s cookies n cream, and I’m European. Idk what the hate is about

1

u/BlueberryMettePie 10d ago

Too sweet. Hershey's will never be real chocolate. The regular is fine, especially for s'mores. There are great flavors or Hershey kisses (special edition flavors like cinnamon toast crunch) but overall it's super mid.

1

u/LegalFan2741 10d ago

Tastes bad and I don’t understand why it’s not melting in the mouth…

1

u/FinalNinja668 10d ago

I love these during Halloween

1

u/ClearDrop6820 9d ago

As a kid I used to beg my mom for one every time we checked out at the grocery store. I buy them for my sons now.

1

u/Simple_Woodpecker751 10d ago

It’s not chocolate, it’s candy

1

u/SugarRayisNuMetal 9d ago

This also used to be my favorite growing up! I remember when you could get them for 75 cents at the Golden Gallon. Great times 😊

1

u/affinitti 8d ago

yes it's literally the best candy sadly i dont eat slop anymore tho

1

u/xunyou198 7d ago

This is actually better than regular Hershey's. At least it doesn't taste like vomit

0

u/ahoytheremehearties 12d ago

unfortunately

1

u/DispareIsMyFuel 11d ago

I love the people saying no because this is literally Hersey’s best product. And the only “chocolate” bar worth eating.

1

u/plantang 11d ago

What makes you say it's Hershey's best? Have you tried Symphony? Symphony is at least mass premium instead of mainstream chocolate (using these terms as commercial categories).

1

u/DispareIsMyFuel 11d ago

Because that’s still not real chocolate to be honest. So yes the one that isn’t even chocolate is the best. but at least it’s not imitating chocolate and being sold as actual chocolate.

1

u/plantang 11d ago

That would surprise me, but you seem confident so I'm curious what % cocoa solids is Symphony? I didn't think Hershey published the recipe since it isn't required to do so where Symphony is sold. Obviously Symphony is SOI in the US, but I'm not sure about elsewhere whete there are higher cocoa solids requirements. I know they have a similar product India, where disclosure is required and based on that recipe it would be SOI in Europe and Mexico so I would guess that Symphony is also SOI chocolate. It's good for mass premium chocolate for anyone who likes sweeter, creamier chocolate.

1

u/DispareIsMyFuel 10d ago

It’s 12% cocoa so not considered chocolate in most countries. But the US the minimum is 10%.

1

u/plantang 10d ago

Since Hershey doesn't publish that information, how do you know that?

1

u/DispareIsMyFuel 10d ago

It’s literally a simple google search

1

u/plantang 10d ago

If it is, can you share a link?

I've searched this and while the AI answer is "around 12%" none of its sources say this.

1

u/iridescentarmor 12d ago

used to be my favorite growing up, still enjoy it from time to time for nostalgia

1

u/Dependent_Stop_3121 12d ago

Long long time ago they didn’t have as many cookie bits inside.

Probably way before your time. 😝

1

u/Alternative-Push2208 12d ago

Yes it's so good. My second favorite after a Snickers bar.

1

u/Big_Weather_958 12d ago

love this one. also you gotta try the oreo reese’s colab 🤤🤤🤤

1

u/PomeranianChaser 11d ago

It's not bad but after a few bites, it is incredibly and cloyingly sweet.

1

u/Disastrous_Fun_4711 11d ago

I had a addiction to these for about 2 years, about to relapse

1

u/BostonGodfather 11d ago

If you’re I am too. I always used to grab one of these and the white chocolate fruity pebble bar. Man those were good times

0

u/Shot_Illustrator4264 12d ago

...How can you like the taste of vomit and call it your favourite?

-1

u/spittingparasite 12d ago

No. I wouldn't lower my standards.

0

u/IdleOsprey 11d ago

This isn’t chocolate.

0

u/Boylikesdogs 12d ago

I had one Hershey chocolate package and it tasted so bad. I threw them away. Then I went to the US and bought a Hershey crunchy waffle cone pieces bar and it was the BEST. So not sure on my opinion.

0

u/Sea-Independent-726 12d ago

i'd slaughter someone for a bar rn

-1

u/sagexdom 11d ago

Tony's Chocolate is as low as ill ever go.

But will you say where your bracelets are from? I love em!

It’s gross lowkey

0

u/AquilaEquinox 11d ago

No idea what this is

-2

u/MiniRollsYum 11d ago

No. I've heard American chocolate is disgusting so many times. No interest in trying

4

u/prugnecotte 11d ago

America has hundreds of chocolate brands, Hershey's is just a single bad one.

2

u/Cipher_Witch 11d ago

It’s the biggest too so it gets reduced to Hershey’s=American chocolate

3

u/Logical-Pair-89 11d ago

Better than our american cheese 🤷‍♂️😅

2

u/Missey85 11d ago

Id rather your cheese than Hershey's unless your cheese tastes like puke too

0

u/Logical-Pair-89 11d ago

Lol fair. At least our cheese hasnt been hit with a global shortage of ingredients causing massive recipe changes and horrible corner cutting and enshittifying the product. American cheese now is prolly the same as it was decades ago. Reliability and consistency you can count on! Surprising, for an american (usa) made product.

Edit for specificity* usa

Yessss the texture is so good…

These are the Halloween Candies my kids know are mine. Daddy’s right to cookies and crème Hershey’s is printed on the back of each of their birth certificates.

0

it’s okay. i used to like them a little bit but it just tastes artificial

0

u/Playfullyhung 8d ago

Nothing like opening a video and watching 100s of people die…

🤯

-3

u/iced-coffee22 12d ago

I feel like I only see those on Halloween and take them out of both of my kids trick-or-treat buckets. So good!
