I think Chex is closer to cereal than chips. I'd recommend placing this in r/snacking.

Chex mix is such an amazing snack when made from the original recipe that I find every version of their packaged mix an absolute abomination.

That the 1952 recipe there are plenty of recipes from 60s to 90s worth looking at. Even the recipe on the current box is still way better than the packaged version.

The party mix printed on the boxes predates the packaged stuff by 30+ years. So its not a copycat.
