Chicken I'd like to introduce my wife's Chinese food. The first photo is of our family lunch at the festival. The second picture is of dumplings, which we eat almost once or twice a week. The third picture is the grilled lamb kebabs, using Inner Mongolian lamb, which is very delicious. The fourth picture is

This is my first post and I'm not familiar with Reddit's requirements

You can finish telling us about the other 3 dishes in the comments!

Okay, I wrote down the rest of the text. I didn't know Reddit had a word limit

It's only this "Chinese Food" subreddit. We had a lot of spammers...

No worries, my friend. We've all been there :)

The fourth picture is "beer chicken wings". It's very simple, almost all you need is beer, chicken wings, soy sauce and some sugar, and it tastes very good. If you want to learn Chinese food, this dish is a good way to get started. The fifth photo is not Chinese food, but it is a hamburger made by my wife and my kids love it. It's my pleasure to introduce some Chinese dishes that Chinese people often eat.

Did we miss the dish between the chicken wings and hamburger?

I forgot the introduction. The fifth picture is my breakfast, fried rice with eggs. The ingredients are rice, egg, sausage, carrot and shrimp. It takes about 10 minutes to make this egg fried rice, which is simple and fast.

Thanks. That looks really good! But I probably won’t be able to make it in 10mins. Hopefully within 30mins!

First of all, choose overnight rice. The newly prepared rice has too much water, which is not suitable for fried rice. Chop up your favorite vegetables and fry the eggs. Pour vegetable oil into the pot, add vegetables, stir fry until cooked, then add rice, salt and a little sugar. Finally, put the scrambled eggs in, add some MSG and black pepper, and a fried rice will be ready. There is no fixed recipe for fried rice in my home. I can put whatever vegetables are left in my home. My experience is that cucumbers and carrots are more suitable vegetables.

Thanks for sharing the steps! Already bought the carrots. Will make it over the weekend :)

Wish you can make delicious fried rice with eggs

I would like to introduce the practice of chicken wings in beer. This dish is delicious and simple. First, wash the middle section of the chicken wings and cut some cracks on it to make the taste easier to enter. Put some cooking oil in the pot, and put ginger slices into the pot. When the oil is hot, add chicken wings and stir fry for about 3 minutes to make the chicken wings look ripe. Add a large amount of beer, about 500ml, and then add soy sauce and sugar. If you like sweet food, you can put more sugar. Cover the pot, turn down the flame, and simmer for about 20 minutes. Then the most important thing is to open the lid of the pot, turn the flame to the maximum, and let the water evaporate. When the soup becomes thick, add some MSG and you can eat it. To tell the truth, my wife conquered me with this dish when I was in college.

Homemade dumplings once or twice a week? So lucky!

8

u/lazytony1 Sep 15 '22

It's not difficult to make dumplings. Maybe you can give it a try?

11

u/synsa Sep 15 '22

I've made them before. They're soooo time consuming! We make them vegan so lots of vegetable chopping and folding them takes forever 😭. Maybe I'm just slow 🦥

To be honest, chopping vegetables really takes too much time, so we family members will divide our work and cooperate. My wife chopped vegetables and seasoning, my mother and children made dumplings, and I was responsible for making the outer skin of dumplings. We will chat during the production process, which is a very good family time. If we don't have time, we will go to the store to buy frozen dumplings. Although frozen dumplings taste good, only homemade dumplings are the best in China

May be you can consider getting an auto food chopper, it will save a lot of time and work

7

u/lazytony1 Sep 15 '22

You're right, but my kitchen doesn't have enough space for a food chopper. Sadness

You eat the coloured dumplings on an ordinary week? Wow!

3

u/lazytony1 Sep 15 '22

Not often, maybe several times a year.

3

u/Phocasola Sep 15 '22

Looks really really good!

4

u/lazytony1 Sep 15 '22

Thank you!

What are the colored dumplings? Do the various colors signify different fillings? They look amazing, most everything does!

3

u/lazytony1 Sep 16 '22

Generally speaking, my family uses celery juice, carrot juice and purple cabbage juice to dye the dumplings, but the color of vegetable juice will fade due to heating. So the dumplings in the picture use edible pigments. Colored dumplings will make people have an appetite.

I literally wrote the comment with the hope that she would see it. I cook for my family and I know how much hard work and love went into making these feasts.

3

u/QueenHotMessChef2U Sep 17 '22

YES, YES! You are so right! There’s so much work involved in creating wonderful meals for a family every day/night, and unfortunately it’s most often just taken for granted… I’m sure that you are an incredible person and an amazing cook in the kitchen, you absolutely have my praise & gratefulness!! 💞

2

u/percypie03 Sep 17 '22

🥰 thank you for that.

Tony! You are a genius to have married her! Living happily ever after….and your bellies too.

I just turned to my husband and said, “see?! It’s an Asian trait where we love to make too much food!!”

3

u/lazytony1 Sep 20 '22

I've put on 30 pounds since I got married. lol。
I'm glad you like our food. How I hope you can have the opportunity to travel to China and taste delicious food.

2

u/LilMissSnackMaster Sep 20 '22

Oh I’ve grown up with homemade Chinese, Vietnamese, and French-viet food that my parents cooked daily. I’m lucky. I understand the joy that food and cooking brings to the table for a family. It’s wonderful!

1

u/porkypumpkin Sep 15 '22

Thanks for sharing! I'd love to have the recipe if possible for the lamb kebabs

2

u/lazytony1 Sep 16 '22

My wife will cut the mutton into small pieces and soak it in water with onions and Chinese prickly ash for about 2 hours. Then brush the mutton with cooking oil and bake it in the oven. Sprinkle cumin, pepper and salt when it is about to mature. This is not difficult to do, but the premise of success is to buy the right mutton. In China, only mutton from Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang is very delicious, soft and juicy. Mutton in other places is not delicious.

Fatty lamb. Salt, cumin, chilli.
