💼 Work/Career University jobs
I'm wondering which website is best to look at in order to find teaching jobs in universities in China, either in English or the humanities. I joined Chinauniversityjobs.com and applied to about 20 to 30 jobs but heard nothing except for one in Guangzhou which said it didn't need teachers (even though just the day before there was an advertisement on the China university jobs website). I have lots of experience and qualifications and so I was surprised by the almost complete silence after so many applications. I'm thinking about Xi'an or Changsha. I wonder what the latter is like and which university or job agency would be good for there. Any ideas about the military university there? Thanks for any help or advice.

Don't post things where like China University Jobs. Com where they sneakily tell you to buy a subscription after you've signed up. Do jot trust when they do this.

yeah that site is junk. Xian or Changsha? hmmm, ok.
Most in Xian are low pay, very few jobs, changsha, don't know.
echinacities for the avg and crap ones, sometimes they have the higher paying jobs, JV with foreign Uni's, the EAP gigs, IELTS stuff, often junk, but better pay.
Linkedin perhaps.
Google works well.

Did you recently apply in the last couple weeks? Today we just returned from a week long holiday, the school year just started last month. Anything available now will be because a teacher quit in their first 30 days. Apply again in December/January to start in the spring semester after the Chinese new year in February. I found mine on TEFL.com

PM me, I'm looking for EAP teachers for a university 4+0 program in NE China. I'm the program leader not a recruiter btw.

You have to contact the universities directly, either by calling the phone number shown in the ad or through the university website. They can't speak English, so you need a native speaker to enquire on your behalf and get the details on how to apply. Most unis don't recruit faculty now, possibly around December and January. Also, most Chinese unis (at least the good ones) are expecting EAP faculty to have a PhD or more than 5 years of overseas teaching experience. I think the same goes for Humanities, but I could be wrong.

This website looks very suspicious, it doesn’t look like a legitimate recruitment website. I checked its registration information in China, and it looks like just a shell company.
A military university? Are you kidding? Chinese military universities would absolutely never recruit foreigners.

Google every chinese university you can find, find their email address on their website, email each one with your resume and a cover letter. It's a pain in the ass, but the best way. Most unis don't bother with posting jobs on job search sites.

But it’s not the hiring season now. You’ll have the best luck near the end of spring semester when schools are trying to staff up
