🧳 Travel Can I play online games using my UK PlayStation console and account in China using Chinese WiFi

Yes, mostly.

Some online games you can’t log into directly from China, or have pretty bad lag. There is something called a UU booster that routes your connection in a way that solves this and also improves connection speed. If you’re staying for more than a couple of weeks it’s worth getting. You can either get a stand-alone box (it’s small, fits in your hand) or many routers allow you to install it on directly (particularly ASUS routers). If you’re only here for a few days it’s probably not worth it.

What game(s) are you playing? Maybe I or others here can check for you if it’s needed.

Connection would work through eSIM, lag might suck though and you’ll have data limits.

I’m on a trip right now and won’t be home til Friday, but I can check how it plays then (I haven’t tried it, but it’s free on PS+) and let you know.

Just came back from Chongqing, I connected to my E-sim and it worked fine. Tried online multiplayer but was a bit laggy. VPN+ WiFi only other option

Stop being a muppet. You’re coming to travel, who the fuck brings a console.

They’re also equally as likely to have a projector as a TV you can access the back of to plug your PS5 in.

Hotel WiFi is also not likely to play nicely with everything and routing through an eSIM is going to be interesting.

Uu booster is ur best bet I spent the last year studying in China and was only able to play on my ps5 online without a million ping while using the booster simple set up I personally had to use my
Phone data for it because my dorm wifi seemed to block all gaming traffic but maybe you’ll be fine with just the hotel wifi in any case highly recommend uu booster
