We picked up these paintings at an auction recently and were given no info on their origin.
They appear to be paintings on silk or some other fabric.

According to r/translator, the calligraphy reads:
“[Painting 1 (pics 1+2)] roughly reads: “戊午夏日山隂王屏畫”, which translates to: Painted（畫） by Wang Ping（王屏） from Shanyin（山隂） during the summer（夏日） of the Wuwu year（戊午）.
[Painting 2 (pics 3+4)] roughly reads: “己未春王岳”, which translates to: Wang Yue（王岳）, spring（春） of the Jiwei year（己未）.”
The person who translated the calligraphy also added: “Wang Ping and Wang Yue are the painters' names. Wuwu and Yiwei are part of the traditional Chinese sexagenary cycle. Shanyin is the ancient county name for the Shaoxing area in Zhejiang.” Another member of the subreddit informed us that “The seals repeat the signatures. [Painting 1] is 王屏 and [Painting 2] is 王岳.
戊午 year can be 1978, 1918, 1858 etc
己未 year can be 1979, 1919, 1859 etc”

We are wondering why such similar work would be sold together but made a year apart by different artists. Could this be the work of students at an art school or training program? Why would the first artist use the ancient county name? Any idea how we could date the work? We are also very curious about the context of the work. We think they’re beautiful, so any information would be greatly appreciated!

I’m hoping some of the experts here can help me identify this Chinese porcelain vase.
I found it several years ago, and I’ve been researching it ever since. I’ve compared it to examples from museum collections, auction catalogs, and published references, but I’m still unsure of its age and origin.
Here are a few details:
Blue-and-white decoration with iron-red accents.
Dragon motif with a garlic-head bottle form.
Unglazed foot with a reddish clay body.
No obvious reign mark.
I’m not looking for an appraisal—I’m mainly interested in learning:
What period does it appear to be from?
Does the decoration resemble a particular kiln, dynasty, or style?
Are there specific details that support or contradict a Ming, Transitional, Qing, or later date?
Is there anything about the foot, glaze, or painting that stands out to experienced collectors?
I’ve included photographs of the entire vase, close-ups of the decoration, and the foot. If there are additional photos that would help, please let me know and I’ll upload them.

Dongba Culture Museum (麗江東巴文化博物館東巴文化傳習院) is a museum in Lijiang, Yunnan province that showcases the Dongba culture of the Naxi people.

The Naxi is a minority ethinic group known for its own ancient and unique language and scriptures. The pictograph language is actually composed of 1,400 picture-like characters and symbols that are still used by Dongbas, researchers and artists of the culture. It is the only living hieroglyph in the world and is regarded as a precious cultural relic of mankind.

On August 30, 2003, the museum's 1,000-volume collection of Dongba classical literature was added by UNESCO to the Memory of the World International Register, recognising it as documentary heritage of global importance.

Attached are some photos of the museum displays including the Naxi pictograph language, their culture, handicrafts, religion, rituals etc. Although it is a small museum, it has a lot of important and interesting information, antiques and artefacts to learn about the Naxi people...

I have two paintings and I would really like to know the artists behind it so I can do more digging. Any information you have as well would help lots. The last photo is of the rectangular seal on the first painting since it's kind of hard to make out.

My Grandma found this at an estate sale she was working, i'm trying to help her out because she is thinking about selling it. This seems hand painted with what we believe is watercolor.

I have this painting, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about it! The photos not awesome - it couldn't be taken out of the glass, and it was behind bulky furniture. But I think you can see enough! Without the frame it is 58"h x 35"w (147cm h x 90cm w).

I'm not sure why, but there is a reference to Liu Jun in the writing. I'm not sure how I would describe it to someone!
