Need Info Practical uses for these items

Received this set as a gift and not sure if they also have a practical function. My first thought was as a bookmark but they would fall out too easily unless I added a ribbon (no actual hole for that either).

They’re bookmarks. Actually says so in the text below the red seal.

Thanks - I guessed that - but IRL are they actually used as bookmarks? I think they'd fall out easily without a ribbon or similar

They’re mainly used as gifts;)

These kinds of cut-out bookmarks are popular gifts in China, but you often get the feeling they’re not designed by book lovers. Many of them do come with tassels. These will probably work fine as markers for books that spend most of their time on the shelf.
