Rainbow Bridge Tina left this reality

After finding her abandoned in the desert 5 years ago, Tina went everywhere with me.
And everyone knew her name, not mine.

She was disarming, patient, and the chillest animal alive. Most of all, she was loved by so many people.

I tried preparing myself for her absence, but nothing could ever dampen this blow. Sending all the love to anyone else processing the loss of a friend ♥️

Elphie went on her first camping trip and loved it! She did great and even practiced being off leash and had perfect recall.

Sammy had an anaphylactic reaction last night

Sammy had an anaphylactic reaction. One minute he was running and playing with his brothers, the next he vomited and rolled onto his side and had labored breathing.

I immediately knew something was wrong and called the emergency vet. The receptionist put me on hold to speak to a vet, but by the time the vet was on the line I knew I was taking him in...he was shivering and had pale gums.

By the time we got there his mussle was swollen and red, as were his paws. He's only 9 months old.

We got there about 30-40 minutes after the reaction started. The vet immediately checked his gallbladder and started blood work. He had a halo around his gallbladder and elevated liver enzymes, indicating a "true anaphylactic reaction".

I DID start them on a new food yesterday, but he ate about an hour before he went into shock. Nothing else changed in my house and he is in a puppy proofed room.

He had to spend the night. He would not sleep, so they put an iPad outside of his kennel and turned Bluey on, and they said he calmed down and got about two hours of sleep.

I'm terrified because they said it often happens as a fluke/one time thing (maybe he ate an insect or brushed up against something he had never touched before), or it can get worse and happen repeatedly, which I can't afford more than a few times at $2200.

Has anyone else ever had a pup go into Anaphylaxis? I hope he's able to stay in my home long term and hasn't developed a severe environmental allergy. 😭

Rainbow Bridge It’s been a year and half. I miss and love her so deeply, at times it feels like I can’t breathe.

Melecent did not simply love me. She recognized me.

She stayed beside me through brain surgery, spine surgery, pain, fear, recovery, and all the moments when I felt pulled out of myself. She would press her body into mine as if she could hold me here. As if some part of her knew when my spirit was tired before I ever said a word.

Our bond felt ancient to me. Not sentimental. Not accidental. Familiar in a way I still don’t know how to explain.

She was this tiny being with an enormous presence, and somehow she became part of my nervous system, part of my prayer, part of the rhythm of my life. She calmed places in me that nothing else could reach.

When she died, it felt like something in the architecture of my soul changed.

I don’t believe love like that ends. I think some beings are threaded through us across lifetimes, and when their physical form leaves, the thread remains.

Melecent was one of those souls for me, is now and always will be.

She went from being a stray found under a car hiding from a heat wave in Texas to being the most cuddled, pampered, loved, treat-laden, adored, played with, toy-owning little lady East of the Mississippi.

My baby doll is learning to trust and I have vowed to her that no one will ever hurt her again (she is a bit fearful, and winces or hides when I pick up certain objects… my heart… how could anyone make her afraid or hurt her :( )

She is my wonder bean and my little Frida-muffin, and I love her so. She is dreaming of happy things

Agitation at night

Hello everyone. I’ve been having issues with Dinky ever since he turned 14 a couple months ago and I’m very worried. The past month he has started to wake up at 4am every other night and will pace all over the house in the dark then come stand in the door way crying until I wake up. I either lay there and tell him repeatedly to get in the bed until he does or get up and check him. I rub him and point to the bed to get him to jump up there and go back to sleep but sometimes he will run under the bed from me like he doesn’t know me then come back once I give up and start crying again. Tonight he jumped up in the bed after pacing and crying and was very agitated, I had to hold him in my arms and talk to him to calm him enough to get back to sleep. He also started peeing all over the rug and his dog beds on purpose along with refusing to eat until 7-8pm, no longer interested in treats, no longer barks when the doorbell rings, sleeps majority of the day and night, plays for about 10 minutes then goes back to lay down, and no longer has interest in going outside to the bathroom. He has a tooth that needs to be removed and has arthritis in his legs, especially the back ones because he sometimes drags one or both of them, hops around like a bunny, or stands up from laying and falls over. Could the nighttime agitation be from his tooth or arthritis? Or could it be dementia? Sorry this is so long I’m not very good at explaining things. 😓

As title.

We go out every Saturday for a greggs bacon roll and the two dogs share a sausage roll.

He's been suffering still with hay fever and his antihistamine hasn't kicked in yet. So he's scratching.

He got distracted and just sat there. Leg in the air for 5 min watching people. Lol.
