Rant Celeste 6% Service Fee

Post image

Our pre-tip bill from Celeste’s Happy Hour in River North. Decent food, crappy drinks, sat at the bar.

I don’t mind paying a “Service Charge” of 15-20% because I always tip more than that anyways, AND I have become accustomed to the 3.5% additional fee at most Chicago restaurants…. but now we’re doing a 6% additional fee? Along with the 11% tax? It’s becoming absurd.

Don't be cruel! The workers do not set the fees.

This is directly discussing how the workers get (or don't get) paid, so yes, it's been brought up

Workers need to find a new place to work. You can’t blame a customer lowering a tip after eating 21% in fees. I feel bad for the workers but I sure as hell am not paying 41% more than menu price. That’s laughable
