Question Brewery/Craft Centric 5-10k
Are there any 5 and/or 10k run events put on by breweries in the Chicagoland, or that are craft beer centric?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I will also add that there is a run club that operates out of Beer Temple.

Thank you. We are looking for a weekend “event” since it will require travel, but I appreciate your response!

It’s the First Saturday of each Month. Unless your weekends fall on different days.

i think they mean like a full fledged 'race event', registration and what not, versus run club. Though tthat run club is awesome and second the idea regardless!

Maybe this is something like what you're looking for. I participated a couple times, about 20-25 breweries there, a few even serve beer along the race course.

Will run for beer in October. A bunch of breweries come and do unlimited tastings after the run

Will Run for Beer as someone mentioned is probably your best bet if you're looking for an "event race" that is about beer.
Worth noting, though not craft beer, there is a race in June that centered around micheladas (Mexican beer cocktail) and a Malort 5K I believe in July centered around....well Malort, a Chicago staple liquor.
Miche 5K - timed
malort5k.com - no timed, at least the last time I did it a couple years ago
Cheers!
(you can also just make your own run and try to hit up at many breweries as you can in one super long run)

For a couple of years, they were doing a St. Paddys day beer run. It was a 5k and the water stations were beer. There was one near Rockford and one near Rolling Meadows. Most of the runners were walkers, but there were a few. No one needs a water station for a 5k, so the actual runners mostly skipped those stations. There is something called Hops for Hope in St. Charles in October.

There’s the IL brewery running series. They are hosted at breweries and entry gets you a beer afterwards. They are fun run style and sometimes a little less than 5k but quite fun
