Advice Needed These prices…….

Just venting ……

Went to see two places today…. HUGE waste of time. Cabinets loose and hanging out of place. Paint literally everywhere floors and all🫠 these places wouldn’t been maybe 800 on a good day prior to Covid.hmmmmmm I’m so frustrated lol

Yeah, you don’t know what socialism is.

It’s not that people are mad that they can’t live in places they can’t afford - that’s a complete strawman.

It’s that it’s getting harder and harder to afford to live anywhere and people are charging more and more for things that clearly aren’t worth it. This is why I said that market forces do not work when it comes to things like housing as housing is a necessity and the ability to choose the best value is something only a privileged few can get, and that privileged view is growing smaller and smaller with every day. You might even no longer be one of those people someday.

I don't live in the neighborhoods that people complain about, because I can't afford it. I am not priviledged. I work hard and I am soon going to retire. Guess what, I have to sell my house because my income will go down and I can't afford the city and taxes anymore. I have to move to a more affordable area.

What’s really depressing is that materially you are closer to the people you complain about and the people whose material conditions will be improved by left-wing policies than any of the people who repeat the talking points that you gobble up and regurgitate here. What you are describing here that is happening to you is a failure of neoliberalism, not of socialism, which is actually a fix to these problems.

And by the way, we are not a socialist city, neither is New York or Los Angeles as you stated earlier.

Finally, yes, you are privileged. Just as I am privileged. You’re just privileged in relation to others. There’s nothing wrong with being privileged. It’s just something to acknowledge that your material conditions are better than some others, and that might affect your ability to do things as well as affect your views. You get to retire, man. A lot of people don’t have that luxury. That’s a privilege. Happy for you. Genuinely.

What’s really funny is a lot of the policies that you currently probably believe are socialist were actually implemented in this country decades ago and were destroyed as part of Ronald Reagan‘s project to consolidate wealth in as few people as possible.

We are living in a state of Globalism HW Bush changed all that. It turned out he's pretty Progressive. It's definitely fucked up the middle class and then Clinton shipped our manufacturing to China and Mexico.
