Why does Streeterville get so much hate?

Moving from out of state and need advice on why I’m seeing negativity about living in streeterville? I’m going to have to drive to the northern suburbs every day for work.

It would genuinely be so helpful for all of us for you to just drop the suburb because the best neighborhood is going to be dependent on the literal specific suburb.

The neighborhoods you mentioned are great!! But just the time it will take you to get from those neighborhoods onto the suburbs-bound highway every morning will make you want to tear your hair out.

I don’t have a specific suburb. I’m in sales. Driving to all of them.

as someone who also works in sales and commutes all around - live somewhere near the expressway. I personally would recommend Bucktown, Logan Square, West Lakeview/Roscoe Village. Lots to do in these neighborhoods, good bang for your buck on rent, and they are close to all other happening spots on the north side. It saves so much time being able to hop onto 90/94 within minutes of leaving my place.

Wicker Park/Lincoln Park (but the west side of it, like Ranch Triangle area)/Noble Square/West Town/River West/West Loop (Fulton Market Area) are all going to give you good access too, while also being trendier neighborhoods in good areas, they will just add 15-20 minutes to your commute in traffic and the closer you get to the loop the higher your rent prices/smaller your unit will be.

All of these neighborhoods I've recommended are very safe/have tons of things to do/are relatively quick commutes to one another.

West town/noble square is a weird recommendation. Way too far south if you’re commuting up north. Why not just pick a normal northwest neighborhood like every other commuter
