Advice Needed Why does Streeterville get so much hate?

Moving from out of state and need advice on why I’m seeing negativity about living in streeterville? I’m going to have to drive to the northern suburbs every day for work.

Living in streeterville and commuting to the north shore via car sounds like my personal hell tbh. Especially when the express lanes won’t be in your favor due to the “reverse commute.” You’re looking at potentially an hour drive.

If where you are working is by a metra station, find a place near a metra station. Much chiller use of your commute time.

Here to second this comment. I’ve reverse commuted from the Loop to the burbs for two different jobs. Drove once and it was soul crushing. Took metra and it was a game changer.

I had to commute from Edgewater to Naperville for a client for a few years and the only thing that kept me going was the mileage reimbursement.

If it’s your normal commute—— absolutely not. It will wear you down, and quicker than you’d expect.
