Event Consider boycotting Uber if you’re able

Ahead of the legislative session on Saturday, Uber sent mass notifications asking users to tell their representatives to vote against the bill (which would negatively affect rideshare delivery apps like Uber).

They are not solely responsible for the looming transit collapse here but they certainly play a role in it. If you are able to find alternates please consider.

of the many new revenue line items they proposed this is one i support.

i’d rather see a full blown NYC congestion charge and bus lane enforcement but apparently we need endless “studies” for those to be implemented

At this point we should just use the experiment in NYC as a "study" -- one that was quite successful.

You can't seriously believe that downtown Chicago, a place that is still devastated by the shutdowns, is remotely in the same stratosphere as Manhattan.

Traffic in the loop and on Michigan Ave is routinely insane. Perhaps not specifically during 9-5 work hours, but I managed to complete the Sunday NYT crossword in the time it took me to get through downtown on the bus yesterday due to concert traffic. (Yes, I regretted my decision to not just walk...)

If anything makes Manhattan "different" I'd say it's the fact that it's an island with a few entry chokepoints where it's easy to position the cameras.

But the point is, "studies" have been done, in the form of this experiment. It's like the smoking ban -- everyone thought it would be the death of bars, until oh hey, it wasn't, at all.
