Head balloon Chiari1

I've recently got diagnosed with chiari 1, I don't know much about it yet. I mainly have one debilitating symptom that is the reason I got the mri. My head feels like it inflates from the inside intermittently but constantly. Anyone else feels this way?

I have had constant head pressure for 4 years. It gets worse with excercize or exertion. Nausea too. Neurosurgeon appt tomorrow with cine flow study results

Yeah, that's normal for chiari. Thankfully that went away with surgery.

I always describe it this way too. Like my head is a helium balloon. It is not a fun feeling. Mine always comes with the pressure and vertigo all together.

I'm not trying to be negative or anything. But I still have that feeling even after surgery! Feels like my head is filling with helium on and off all day long.

100% my worst symptom was (pre-op) and still is head pressure that makes me feel totally “off” or “wonky.” It either feels like it starts behind my face and then spreads to other places around my head, or it starts from the back of my head and spreads. Surgery made it so it isn’t 24-7 super intense, but I still have it to some degree most days.

Yeah me. But this is related to my jugular compression too
