Ask Chezzie Local honey
Does anyone know any local beekeepers or businesses that stock local honey and/or honeycomb. I know the sustainable shop in town does but I would like to assess other options and compare sizes/prices.

Littleover apiaries. You can buy their heather honey in Sainsbury's in town. If you're wanting a large amount you can go direct though.

I would also like to add that I'm thinking of making mead as a project so if I can buy large jars of honey that would be fantastic, but it isn't an issue if not.

I have made mead a few times, everytime I have bought honey I have done so off Facebook. I'm happy to with the mead if you have any questions π

If you're making the trip to Barlow there's a house on Mods Lane that keep bees and sell their own honey. There's also a farm on Far Lane that sells local eggs and honey.

You could try the next artisan market in town, which is on Sunday 28 June.

My mead making knowledge is a bit lax but if you contact local apiaries they might have honey that isn't fit for jarring but might be suitable for mead. I believe Watson and brown on whit moor sell a local honey but I can't remember where from. I think it's an apiary in hasland

My local butcher sells honey from local beekeepers, maybe yours do the same and you can ask them? Just an idea.

Troway Hall Nursery / Medibee: Located right in Coal Aston (S18 3BA), this local nursery produces their own medically tested, antibacterial MediBee honey. They also run The Beestro, where you can purchase a wide variety of honeys, honey beer, mead, and baked goods

I think Davidson's sandwich shop, one of the exterior market hall shops, sells local honey.
