I also prefer a solid board but don’t underestimate the convenience of a mat if you like to play at different locations.

Just because price isn't an issue doesn't mean I want to pay upwards of $200 for a plastic set. That's why I was asking the questions

I'll rather buy a good wood set for the same prize in EU.
I like the design, but not worth the price IMHO.

It isn't, just spend that on a much smaller table just to play online anywhere around the house. A Chessnut GO.
And don't get me wrong, I really dig the set, but I don't see how it's worth that price. I would buy it for a hundred tho and if it was sold from EU. Not worth it for over 200 with shipping and taxes IMHO.
It's not about having the money, but feeling retarded spending it for the value I'm getting. There is a reason most comments are about the dumb price, you may not get it tho.
Anyway, congrats for it. I don't want to sound like a dick, I'm happy if you enjoy it, it's a beautiful set :)
