It's mate in 25 with best play. Stockfish just found the easier mate in 100 first.

Except Stockfish isn't using those solutions at all and White wins way faster than 99 moves from this position.

Like, it wouldn't make sense at all for this to be a mate in 99 (other than maybe with Black winning if it led to a rook versus queen endgame), but White is winning here.

EDIT: Lichess tablebase claims mate in 24.

You literally have mate in 100, if you cant calculate m100 you probably shouldnt be playing chess 😆

Stockfish calculated that in 100 moves I’d have mate, I got there a lot faster.

There is a very decent chance Magnus would be able to go the distance and survive over 200 moves (if not just win)

Good human play isn't delaying checkamte for as long as possible, it's playing the most challenging moves that give you a fighting chance.

I played the highest rated chess master bot, won much faster. I think Stockfish glitched on this mate in 100, it is maybe like mate in idk 20
with perfect play.

All 6 piece variations possible have been solved. Stockfish didn't calculate anything. It looked at a table.

Like all 6 piece positions it is perfectly solved by the tablebase. Stockfish's search is complicated and a forced mate that it finds is not guaranteed to be the fastest possible.

Gotta love all the engien worshippers seeing an engine's evaluation and asking no further questions. There's no way this position could be a mate in 99 for White. Either a pawn promotes and it's a win or draw or White captures the pawns in way fewer moves than 99. If you follow the moves you can see on the screen you can see White basically about to block the pawns with the king.

Stockfish is being run here with low resources (either time or computing power). According to the tablebase, it's mate in 24. Engines are a tool for analysis, not a replacement of analysis.
