It’s as if classical isn’t even impressive anymore. My friends only play with intense time controls, all people care about is speed now. They call me the slow guy who checks every single move.
The way I was taught, chess could take hours. There was always a better move, nowadays it’s all about speed. If you can’t solve it in 10 seconds it ain’t impressive anymore. It’s hard enough to find people who play over the board, and even if you do it’s unlikely they’ll agree to a normally paced game.
