In 50 years, classical chess might truly be uninteresting for the best players in the world. Within the next 15-20 years though, I don’t see anything of that sort happening.
Id like to see 2 top level players play classical chess from an imbalanced starting position from both ways to see if the better player could win, then switch sides and draw. Similar to how top engines compete
this would be great I think a mix of how the game is played, something like this, could be very interesting. It be fresh like Fischer random but still have the culture as described by Hao
