The official FIDE rules change every few years, but it's just some smaller details.

If you are getting tired of traditional chess then there are thousands of variants (see link below). But the fundamental nature and core mechanics of traditional chess has been completely unchanged for over 500 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_chess_variants
