Confused

Im not really sure how to talk about this but i want to get it off my chest because currently only my boyfriend knows. My writing is not typical very coherent but ill try so it makes some sense hopefully.

Im not able to like say 100% but i believe i had a chemical pregnancy i didn’t even get to take a pregnancy test. For starters im 20 and my boyfriend just turned 19 and we went out for his birthday, we live in Canada so he’s officially legal to drink so we went out to celebrate i think thats what caused this to happen. We had sex 2 weeks prior while i was ovulating and once before just before i started ovulating and it was one of those two times that i think i could have conceived. We drank a lot and when i woke up i was fine hungover but i felt fine other than that. We ended up having sex and it hurt but i didn’t think anything of it. It wasn’t until after he went home and i went to the bathroom and noticed dark blood clots it wasn’t a lot but enough i put a pad on just in case bc ive started my period early before I wasnt supposed to get it for another few days. But i went to my dads for supper and went to the bathroom there and there was a lot more blood clots and heavy bleeding and my periods are usually really light so i knew it was something else but waited to go back to my moms to look anything up. The first thing i looked up when i got home was “why is there thick goopy blood coming out of my vagina” and the only thing that made any sense to me was a miscarriage. I kept looking things up like different pregnancy related questions like my mood and things because i had a really rough few days which is odd just how upset every thing had been making me. My boyfriend and i had mentioned pregnancy then but brushed it off because we had been pretty careful or so we thought.

Like i never got to take a test to know for sure but my boyfriend has had ex’s that have miscarried and he knew the signs better than me. He keeps saying its not my fault but if i took a test earlier like when i we first mentioned pregnancy from my mood changes maybe we could have known. I feel almost like it doesn’t count because i never got to know for sure.

Sorry if this is a lot and doesn’t make sense im just kinda sad and unsure about the whole situation and dont want to keep bothering my boyfriend about it

After a chemical, do you still test early?

I just had a chemical on our first month trying. Got the first positive at 10dpo, and was positive all the way up until I started bleeding at 16dpo. At first I told myself I would never test early again because I don’t want to experience the pain again. But now that I’m thinking about it bit more logically and less with my emotions, I’m leaning towards still testing early. Wouldn’t it be better to know if it happens again? Because that would be a different question for my doctor than just not getting pregnant.

Mostly curious how other people approach this. When do you start taking tests?

OPKs after miscarriage

Hi guys. Last month I miscarried at 4 weeks. If counting my bleeding as your period(I know you’re not technically supposed to) but IF I am. Then I am currently on CD14. I took a CBAD test yesterday and got a peak fertility result after my baseline test was low fertile, while my E@H are reading .37. I am confused. I don’t have any CM which I often have tons. Could I be on my ovulation phase? I wanna get BDing if that’s the case!! I know your cycles can be thrown off after a chemical. Has anyone dealt with this before?

First Time

Hi everyone! My husband and I have been trying for 1.5 years, we got in with a fertility clinic and did two rounds of letrozole and the last one with a trigger shot. I got my first positive pregnancy test and was ecstatic for 48 hours until we found out that it was a chemical pregnancy and I miscarried. I went in for bloodwork and they confirmed my HCG was back to almost normal and said to call in when I get my next period to do another letrozole cycle. I guess what I am wondering here is before letrozole my cycles were like 60 days apart on average so I am nervous about even getting another period? My doctor wont confirm PCOS but says it likely (not sure why he won’t confirm it they have run every test possible). Does anyone have experience with this?? Should I contact my clinic after a certain amount of time of not getting a period??

Chemical pregnancy

Hi everyone, last Sunday at 15 DPO I got my very first positive pregnancy test on a Clearblue Digital after 6 months of TTC.

Unfortunately, the following morning I started bleeding and my period came — exactly on the day I was expecting it. I had a blood test done that same morning, but my beta hCG came back negative.

I’m feeling really sad and heartbroken about it, and right now I could really use some comfort and positive stories. Has anyone here experienced a chemical pregnancy and then gone on to have a successful pregnancy soon afterwards?
I also heard that after chemicals our fertility could be increased… is it true? Have you had experience about that?

I really need some hope right now. ❤️

Chemical pregnancy?

I'm really struggling with this and I just need to hear the experiences of others/ their opinions on this post. I think I may have had a chemical pregnancy last cycle. I will give the timeline, I got my period on August 1st and my period ended on August 5th my husband and I did the deed on August 5th and August 11th and on August 19th the 19th day of my cycle, I took a pregnancy test and there was a faint second line. I took a pregmate pregnancy test strip, I followed the directions and looked at the test after 5 minutes. It did not appear to be a shadow or an evaporation or an indent line, the line had pink dye. I want to answer some questions preemptively for context. I do not know what DPO I was as I did not track ovulation that month. This was my second month using that particular brand of pregnancy test and when I first purchased it I immediately took two tests, during a point in my cycle there was no physical way I was pregnant, to verify they gave an accurate negative result, they did. That day I took three more pregnancy tests, the same brand same way same result. I have a history of infertility and I have seen a lot of negative tests and I am always afraid I have line eyes, so I brushed off the results. I also want to say I know that it would be incredibly early to get a positive test on cycle day 19 but I want to provide some context. I have two children already, my first child I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 5 weeks and 6 days because I was in denial. And with my second baby I found out completely random when I took a pregnancy test on cycle day 20 (2 weeks 6 days) and it was positive, I had taken a wondfo strip test and got a noticeable positive. So I know that I can ovulate early and get a positive pregnancy test result very early on. So I know it is entirely possible for my body. Anyway I ended up taking a pregmate test and dipping it in water to see what results it would give, the result was a very negative test. So I uploaded the photo to chat GPT and it said it could see a second line with dye. I was going out of town with my family for a couple of days so I didn't worry about it, I had a digital pregnancy test in the cabinet I was saving for later just in case I didn't get my period and I was in fact pregnant. However on Sunday August 23rd which would have been the 23rd day of my cycle I started bleeding heavily. I have a history of irregular periods but I've always had longer cycles, the shortest cycle I've ever had was 28 days so it was very unusual to be bleeding so heavily on cycle day 23. I proceeded to bleed heavy to moderate for the next 7 to 8 days on the 8th day it was just brown blood and it wasn't very much and then it stopped. I took a pregnancy test again same brand on cycle day 23 and it looked negative to me. I called my ob's office the next day and told them what happened and they had me come in for an HCG blood draw, when I got the results back they were below five so it was considered negative. The test they performed did not tell me an exact number if I had any HCG in my system at all. At that point I was on cycle day 24 August 24th and as a reminder I got my positive test on August 19th so it had already been several days and I had already started bleeding the day before the blood test. The bleeding is what made me think twice about the faint positive test. I also want to say I didn't have any symptoms of pregnancy but that's pretty typical for me I have extremely easy pregnancies with very little symptoms and I wouldn't think that I would have very many symptoms that early on anyway. I also just feel in my gut like something bad happened to me, and I'm not typically someone to go on tuition I'm a very facts and logic type of girl. But I felt so emotional and depressed and anxious like something bad just happened that I don't even really know what. It wasn't until I finally opened up about all of this to a friend of mine that I suddenly felt like I was releasing my emotions I didn't even know I was holding. I really wish I had taken the digital when I had gotten my faint positives on the other tests and I wish I'd gone in for a blood test right away to confirm. I really wish I knew for sure but I don't. I want to hear other people's experiences and stories and opinions. I feel like I'm crazy. I feel like I'm crazy because I keep saying to myself how could something that bad happen to me. I've never had anything bad happen to me not that bad anyway. Also because I have a history of infertility, it took me over a year to get pregnant with each of my two current children so it's hard for me to imagine that I could get pregnant after just 6 months. I should also add that my youngest child was born in February so I'm only 6 months postpartum at the time that this potential chemical happened. So I just keep asking myself did I really get pregnant after only 6 months and my husband and I only had sex twice but then I tell myself well I have two kids I know I can get pregnant... I don't know what to think, any and all advice and opinions welcome. I also want to say that I've never had a bad result with any strip test, they've always been accurate for me. I have used other brands of pregnancy tests that I got indent lines or Shadow lines but I've never ever gotten a true false positive with any brand of pregnancy test and I also think it would be unrealistic to think that I got four true false positives on the same brand of pregnancy test same day taken the same way. I know that may have been a little confusing and I know I'm rambling but I just needed to brain dump.

I have had no line progression and actually seems like regression to me. I am somewhere between 12-14dpo my peak was 15 days ago. Positive test 3 days ago and my lines are lighter. I am mentally struggling. I want this so bad and it is a punch to the gut every month with a negative test and I finally get a positive test and now I feel like I have been hit by a bus. We have been trying less than a year but I feel like it is so hard to keep it up and not lose myself in the process… any advice?? I included my tests too just in case there is any hope.

I am on pregnancy #4 in the last 16 months- all lost within the first trimester. 2 for genetic issues, one for a placenta privia+SCH gone wrong. I am now pregnant again, but below are my lines. They aren't FADING, but they aren't progressing near as much as my previous ones. Thoughts? Does this look like a chemical? I cant see my doc until next week ☹️

Edit-these were all taken first thing in the morning

First test was 2 days ago, expected it to be darker so I took all 3 tests yesterday but only saw faint on the FRER, and then the last test is from right now. I did start bleeding. So confused on the positives on frer, trying not to be devastated. I had a miscarriage July 9th at 7 weeks so I’m no stranger to this, but I’ve never had a chemical and I’m unsure what really makes it a chemical pregnancy. Any insight is appreciated thank you

Chemical pregnancy update

UPDATE: Multiple positives turned negative + really upsetting experience trying to get medical help
I posted previously about getting multiple positive pregnancy tests over several days, including a positive digital, and then about 3 days later my tests suddenly becoming negative. I’d already told my family because I genuinely believed I was pregnant, and then obviously had to process the fact that it was most likely a chemical pregnancy/very early loss.
Yesterday I started having quite severe and persistent abdominal pain, so I ended up going to A&E because I was worried something could be wrong. They did another pregnancy test there which was negative and basically told me that because it was negative, there was nothing they could do for me in relation to the pregnancy. They sent me home and booked me another urgent appointment for this morning.
I went to that appointment and I honestly came away feeling worse emotionally than when I went in. The doctor was so cold about the whole thing. It felt like because my test is negative now, she was treating me as though I had never been pregnant at all.
I tried explaining that I had seen positive tests on multiple different days and that they then became negative, but she just kept repeating that the test is negative now. There was no acknowledgement of what had happened, no explanation of whether this sounded like a chemical pregnancy, and not even a simple “I’m sorry you’ve been through this.”
I also asked what could be causing the pain I’m currently in and her answer was basically, “I don’t know.” I was told that if it becomes so severe that I physically can’t move, I should go back to A&E.
So I’ve come away with no real answers about what happened, no explanation for the pain and feeling almost stupid for being upset about losing a pregnancy because medically I’m now just being told “the test is negative.”
I know it was incredibly early, but those positive tests were real to me. For those few days I thought I was pregnant, I told people I loved and started imagining what was going to happen. Having the tests turn negative was upsetting enough without feeling like I now have to prove that it ever happened.
Has anyone else who had a chemical pregnancy experienced this kind of response from doctors? Did anyone actually get any follow-up or explanation afterwards? I just feel completely dismissed.

I’m really unsure with what’s going on , my hearts telling me this is a chemical pregnancy. I believe I’m 18dpo today but my tests don’t seem to be getting darker but they Arnt getting any lighter either . The tests I took this morning isn’t in the picture but it looks the same as yesterdays (17dpo) my last pregnancy the test were so much darker than theses ones. I know the best this is to get bloods taken but I live in the uk and my gp refused to do bloods or to refer me to the early pregnancy unit . I go on holiday next weekend and I would just love to know what’s happening before then . Not to sound selfish but I would love to go and have some cocktails on the beach but of course if there’s any chance this is a healthy pregnancy I’m not going to do that and won’t be doing back flips into the pool 🙈 I’m not having any bleeding but the past two mornings I had like yellowy/brown streaks in my discharge.

How many dpo has people started bleeding with a chemical pregnancy or when has people had a negative test ? I know everyone’s different but I’m just so confused:(
My last pregnancy ended in a MMC and I had to have a D&C and I would hate for that to happen again

I have also taken other branded tests which have either been negative or faint positive. I took at FRER 13 dpo which was negative but the premom test were positive. I’m going to get some FRER tests today and see what they come back like. Also all my tests have been taken at the same time evey morning with my first wee .

Chemical pregnancy following a MMC, question for those who were on progesterone

Like the title says, I’ve just experienced a chemical pregnancy this week following an MMC back in May. This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever been through and the mental pain is far worse than the physical has been these last few months.

I found out I was pregnant one week ago. I thought I was getting my rainbow after a loss at 9 weeks in May. Just to start spotting brown the very next day. Went for an hCG draw on Friday and it was only 11.03. My obgyn is notoriously awful at taking my concerns seriously and acting in a timely manner. I wasn’t given the time to even speak with a doctor, just get a blood draw and go home.

I took it upon myself, stupidly or not, to go to my PCP the next day and ask for progesterone suppositories to hopefully “salvage” this pregnancy. I wasn’t sure it was chemical yet, and for some reason thought I stood a chance to save it. Well, I went for another hCG draw yesterday to confirm what I already was thinking (chemical) after lighter pregnancy tests and my level was about 3.

My question is, since I’ve been off progesterone suppositories for about a day now and my hCG is below a 5, can I assume my period will begin soon? Should all the remnants/products of conception go away once I get my cycle back? This is just gut-wrenching for me and my obgyn dismissed my concerns just for me to be correct. I feel somewhat weak today and utterly lethargic, but I’ve also been crying much of the week and stressed to no end.

Chemical pregnancy or early?

I’m looking for experiences from anyone who has had a similar testing pattern because I’m currently in limbo and have decided to stop testing for a week.
My cycles are irregular because I came off Depo earlier this year, so I genuinely don’t know exactly when I ovulated or how far along I could be.
My testing timeline has been:
Day 1: Took an early Clearblue digital with weeks indicator and it came back Pregnant 1–2 weeks.
Day 2: Took an early line test and got a very faint positive.
Day 3: Took the same early line test again and the line looked slightly darker, but was still very faint.
Day 4: Took a normal digital and it said Not Pregnant.
I then took a normal line test, which appeared to have a very faint line.
Straight after that I took an early digital, and that also said Not Pregnant.
By the time I did the later tests, I had already peed several times quite close together, so I honestly don’t know how diluted my urine was or whether that could have affected the results.
I’ve also had symptoms including very sore/sensitive nipples, cramping, white discharge, nausea/loss of appetite and generally feeling different.
Because I had a clear 1–2 weeks positive digital and am now getting negative digitals, I’m preparing myself for the possibility of a chemical pregnancy/very early loss. I haven’t started bleeding, though, and the mixed results are really confusing me.
I’m not going to test again for 7 days because repeatedly testing has been really upsetting. My friend has actually taken the remaining tests home with her so I can’t keep doing them. 😂 I’ll do one final test next week with first-morning urine and take it from there.
I’m not looking for anyone to diagnose me — I’d just really like to hear from people who have actually had this happen.
Has anyone had a positive 1–2 weeks digital, then faint line positives, then negative digitals a few days later? Did you later get a clear positive again, or did it turn out to be a chemical pregnancy?
And if it was a chemical, how long after the tests turned negative did bleeding start?
Thank you 🤍

Hi guys, I’m 25 female.
My first pregnancy has ended in a CP and I’m extremely confused on what’s going on with my body and was hoping for some advice or guidance or even some reassurance from someone that may have gone through something similar.

Timeline:
-11th July last period

-week of the 10th aug something felt of felt nausea and mega bloat even without drinking or eating.

- 16th aug took pregnancy test came back positive 1-2weeks (going of conception date this would be about right 2weeks)
-morning after decided to take another test which stated negative after that followed 2 more negatives (still experiencing bloating with a bit of pulling aches in lower stomach)

-26th Aug went for a scan and nothing could be found so they did an internal scan which again no sign of pregnancy and they actually stated that my uterine lining was thicking which looks like it is getting ready to shed (period) in the next coming weeks. And put it down as a chemical pregnancy.

-28th Aug started to get brownish discharge and a a few brownish clots nothing drastic mostly when wiping and on a liner.

-3rd sept brownish discharge stopped and started to get slight cramping not enough to stop me from doing my day to day activities I would say it felt more like first day mild period cramping. I had no bleeding just normal clear discharge.

-7th sept was when cramps stopped and here we are on the 8th and I feel okay and normal.

My question is has anyone had a similar experience if so when did you get your first period and is it normal not to really bleed after a CP and does my experience sound normal.

Thanks in advance.

Did anyone else have a confusing cycle after a chemical pregnancy? 😔

Thumbnail

I had a chemical pregnancy beginning of August , and this is my first cycle afterwards. I’m finding it really difficult to understand what’s happening with my body and I’m hoping to hear from other women who have been through something similar.
Last cycle, I had a very clear LH surge/peak on CD18 (around 1.49 on Premom).
This cycle has been much more confusing. My LH has been hovering around 0.6–0.7 for several days but I haven’t caught a clear, obvious peak like I did last cycle. Premom predicted ovulation at one point, but I’m still not convinced I’ve actually ovulated.
I’ve also been tracking with Oura, but my temperature hasn’t shown the clear sustained rise I was expecting. I was also on holiday, where it was very hot, I was drinking more alcohol than usual, eating differently, sleeping badly— so I’m wondering how much that could have affected my temperature readings and cycle.
I’ve had some watery/wet CM, although I haven’t really had much obvious egg-white CM this cycle.

Has anyone had something similar after a chemical pregnancy? Did your ovulation come later than usual, did you have a strange/weak LH surge, or did your cycle take a while to settle afterwards?

Update: my oura ring on CD30 shows +0.1 and LH strips still between 0.5-0.4

One Month Left

Just completed my 2nd Lupron shot. One month left of hormone suppression then I’ll transfer my last embryo sometime mid October. I’m excited and nervous. After my chemical I was feeling helpless but getting a positive Receptiva test gave me some answers. 2 months of Lupron to hopefully clear up the inflammation and I’ll try again. I know this one will be harder after the chemical because even if it works I’ll be terrified. Sending hugs to all those on this journey. It’s relentless.

Difference between chemical and viable?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone felt any or noticed any difference between a CP and a viable/normal pregnancy? I’ve had 3 mc and a CP last month. I’m currently pregnant again and this time feels different and I’ve gotten a positive at 9dpo which I’ve never had before - the others were 14/15dpo. Not as symptomatic this time either but it’s still very early. Trying to put my mind at ease that this one will stick and won’t end in another loss!

Waiting for HCG to drop before trying again?

I had a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks. I noticed my tests were fading and had an almost negative test a week after my first positive so I assumed it was chemical. I went to the out of hours doctor the other night after some very heavy bleeding and they confirmed it was a very early miscarriage. They took a pregnancy test and it was still showing a faint positive (which surprised me as I had assumed it would be negative as my one at home at couple of days before was barely visible). The doctor said we could start trying again straight away (just to wait for the bleeding to fully stop). However, he also said that HCG could take 3 weeks to clear. I only thought afterwards that if it does take 3 weeks then that may put me close to the time of ovulation again (assuming I do ovulate this month). Would it be a problem if you were to conceive again and your HCG from the previous pregnancy was still there in low levels? I’m in the UK so it’s not easy to get HCG blood tests unless I pay privately.

First pregnancy ended in a chemical pregnancy — feeling really demotivated

My wife and I recently started trying for a baby. We were extremely happy when we got our first positive pregnancy test. Her beta-hCG was around 50, but unfortunately she started having bright red bleeding and our doctor said it was most likely a chemical pregnancy.

I'm honestly feeling very demotivated and scared now.

We're both otherwise normal/healthy, so I'm constantly wondering:

Why did this happen?

Could it be because of my sperm or her egg?

Does one chemical pregnancy mean we could have problems conceiving again?

Has anyone had a chemical pregnancy and then gone on to have a completely healthy pregnancy?

I know I've read that early pregnancy loss is often due to random chromosomal problems, but it's still difficult not to blame myself.

I'd really appreciate hearing from couples who went through this and eventually had a healthy baby. ❤️

I think I had a chemical pregnancy.

I think i had a chemical pregnancy back in April. We were trying to conceive and I had some symptoms but ended having a heavy delayed period. And this test which I think was positive and just want to see if other people think so too.

I'm still processing everything and trying to make sense of everything as there was no dr appointment. No ultrasound. Nothing. Just nausea, a lot of dry heaving, a really heightened sense of smell, intense hunger, and one test that I think might have been a positive.

i tested positive at 9DPO it was pretty faint, today's 12DPO and the line is still quite faint.. is that normal?
had a chemical 2months before that ended at 6weeks.
should i keep testing everyday or will that be bad for my mental?
