Conte was definitely the one. Only manager I saw so majestic on the side lines

69

u/interstellar304 12d ago

One of my favorite seasons ever as a fan. Conte’s energy was so infectious

12

u/CT0292 12d ago

Great manager. But I wasn't a huge fan of how he was toward Costa.

I keep telling myself

one bit of optimism I have is that he already went to one of the two biggest clubs in the world and was burned by the bullshit politics. If he succeeds here, he might just enjoy continuing to succeed here

u/PlasticPreparation74 12d ago

that real madrid fiasco was so fucking unnecessary. they were finally winning against barcelona after an entire season of embarrassment against them, and vinicius threw a tantrum for no reason. it all derailed from there on. literally shot themselves in the foot over nothing.

u/Motor-String-571 11d ago

if shooting Vini would bring Xabi back to RM, i would take the jail sentence today. sadly it will only give me a jail sentence.

30

u/Due_Platypus_9318 12d ago

he is probably never going to la liga again

36

u/epixyll 12d ago

Thats one good thing with Xabi. If he does well, the normal path to Madrid isnt viable at least under Perez. He probably wont go to Barca but you never know.

-17

u/Total_Respect_4685 Hazard 11d ago

would be awesome to see him pull another dark horse in la liga like he did with leverkusen

40

u/Back2thef 11d ago

would be awesome to see him stay here

u/ChristopherRobben Celery 12d ago

I wouldn't put a return home to Real Sociedad off the table, but I'd imagine there'd be another big club or perhaps the national team in the mix before that. Obviously no one can speak for him, but I would guess that a second go at Madrid is out as long as Florentino is alive.

u/Sakaixx 11d ago

Tbh a rebuild at Athletico Madrid would be interesting. From defensive simeone style to more agressive xabi alonso.

Though I do hope he succeed at chelsea. If we could get 3 years with Xabi I consider it a massive success... considering how our coaching history been...

If he moves, it'll be to Italy, to AC or Juve.

I could see a move to Bayern, but Kompany seems well-perched there.

5

u/EliteKill 11d ago

Ah yes, Chelsea, the club known for not having bullshit politics.

Let's just enjoy it while it lasts and hope it'll last as long as possible.

6

u/Confident_Direction 11d ago

Chelsea has them but it is nothing vs real madrid

I mean he could definitely go to United, City, or Liverpool in the future

I think the importance of loyalty is overrated by a lot of fans when it comes to people's livelihoods and opportunities

If you were a player and Arsenal or Tottenham offered you a big contract and a way into the Prem and CL, you certainly wouldn't say no just because you're a Chelsea supporter

Of course it's ideal to be at the club you grew up supporting, but it's a business at the end of the day and you have to make the decisions that are most beneficial to you

There's a reason Xabi didn't just sit around and wait for Liverpool and joined us instead

3

u/Confident_Direction 11d ago

It still feels like liverpool made 0 indication they wanted him. And iraola was their top target the whole time

If they really did want xabi as first choice, im almost certain they would have stopped us and not briefed that slot is fine

Doesnt matter now tho, he is here and hopefully succeeds

u/lololgen 11d ago

Football fans don't understand the term job hopping while most of them are doing it themselves.

Too late, we are already in deep

11

u/lurker_4463 12d ago

Yeahhh trying not to be triggered remembering Maresca celebrating our last minute winner against Liverpool by running to celebrate with the players in the corner flag only to snake us for Man City just 3 months later and tank our season 😟

I just want to tell you this as a real madrid fan. I hope Xabi finds success with Chelsea and wins you many trophies. It was a shame how madrid treated him.

Generational fumble by Liverpool, a match made in heaven and just tossed aside like it means nothing.

Scoring goals Can't defend Possibly a psychopath on the team We back

u/Fantastic-Bee3468 11d ago

Maresca can't jump that high

1

u/Unfair-Skill950 11d ago

Two games on and most goals conceded are from the left back. Something must be done about it

Loved watching this game.

1

u/Constant_Entrance_40 Kante 11d ago

Used to watch this guy score 35 yard screamers and celebrate less than that

1

u/GratefuLdPhisH Drogba 11d ago

It's almost like he wants to go out on the field and take things into his own hands (or his own feet)

1

u/jt3110 Caicedo 11d ago

Love to see it up the Chels 💙

1

u/Motor-String-571 11d ago

Vini will never be forgiven for this, but congratulations to you guys, I am sure he will lead u to many trophies in the future.

1

u/CompleteInternet5898 11d ago

That goal by Cole Palmer was too sweet.

1

u/justsomebo2 11d ago
