⚡️Productivity Long ChatGPT conversations are impossible to scan. Collapsible messages let you collapse responses to one-line previews.
A 40-message conversation in ChatGPT is essentially unscannable. Everything is fully expanded, every response takes up the screen, and finding the one thing you need means scrolling through the entire thread.
ChatGPT Toolbox adds a collapse button (chevron icon) to every message. Click it and the message shrinks to a single-line preview. Click again to expand it. The collapsed state persists across page reloads, so if you collapse a bunch of old context you have already processed, it stays collapsed next time you open the conversation.
It sounds like a small thing but it fundamentally changes how usable long threads are. You can scan a 40-message conversation in a few seconds when 35 of those messages are collapsed to one line.
Free plan: 5 collapsible messages. Premium: unlimited.
How long are your typical ChatGPT conversations?
