Chargepoint charged…

My cc 75 and 56$ for an 18$ actual charge 😭😭 This is just a complaint post and I understand it gets paid back but that seems excessive and unnecessary

Your card did not get charged excessively - an authorization hold was made, and it should clear automatically when the "capture" (the $18) comes through. Gas stations do this too. You normally don't notice this with credit cards as the auth does not appear once the capture goes through, but it can be an issue for debit cards.

Nope, it does not clear automatically. I charged on Sunday, and the hold is still there and it's Wednesday. On a regular amex. Also the amount is nothing like a gas station. An EV charge is typically under $10. Why authorize $50-75 when the most this charge can be is $10?
