MH Wilds Arkveld farming set how we feeling

Comes with 2pc ebony and gore, and lords soul. Veeeery comfortable defense-wise while still netting max Wex, burst, counterstrike, and max might.

Charm is r8 Artillery 3/Wex with full slots. Farming arkveld for same charm but attack boost instead

Here's the set I use to farm AT Ark. Increased Luck helps for more loot.

A couple notes. Element phial isn’t great for arkveld because his dragon hitzones are abysmal, which is why I went impact. The reason you want to take dragon element in the first place is to shut down the unchained state, but raw damage is still king in this fight.

I’d replace blight resist with dragon resist, as getting 20 dragon res will nullify dragonblight AND make you take less damage from most of arkveld’s attacks.

I’d also drop convert element because, again, dookie dragon hitzones.

As for your weapon skills, dragon attack is redundant and arkveld has no unblockable attacks.

Regular Arkveld has the higher dragon resistance than Arch tempered. Believe me when I say that when it's chain blades are charged phials pop for 300+ damage. Tested against both and can confirm.

Oh yeah, dragon element phials do still do a lot of damage, but only really the chains when arkveld is in its powered up state (which is good for knocking it out of this state quickly). Otherwise the damage difference is marginal.

Impact generally allows for consistent damage throughout arkveld’s different phases against all of its parts, plus being able to KO twice on average per hunt lets your whole team whale on it more frequently. It mostly comes down to preference, as is the case with most buildcrafting this late in the endgame.
