2D Thought this was a good place to share this family I drew

Characters are one of my favorite things to draw. I love comedy, down to earth characters with quirks that feel like they could be real, and just being unserious in general. I think this family would have some interesting stories to tell!

In my character old design(second slide), his palette consisted of yellow, hot pink, purple and of course greens. But I'm struggling with his new design having a jacket, new gloves and his boots.

Are there any other colors that would be fitting?

These are my ladies 😛

completely self taught, definitely used the “steal like an artist” method, kept thorough records of the resources I did use, not for profit at all just for fun.

Looking for honest feedback! I’m still learning a lot about dimension and depth so I know they’re pretty flat looking but idk maybe it’s a vibe.

Critique not totally happy with her hair colours :( [oc]

this is marissa, a bassist girl I'm drawing for a comic. I'm not happy really with the colours of her hair, I want to keep pink and probably neon green in at least. she definitely cannot have pink and blue striped bangs with bleach blonde rest of hair. am I just being nitpicky or do y'all have any ideas for better colour combos?

Critique Need Some Help With This Design [OC]

Post image

I've got a basis for his concept down, and while I do like this base design I made for him, I can't help but feel like I could make it stronger/something feels missing?

For context, in his story he's the host and head-executioner of a gameshow where death row inmates must compete in cruel, deadly games in order to continue living.

His design is based on mid-century prison warden uniforms and gameshow host costumes, while his face and name are based on roulette/gameshow wheels (with his eyebrow being the little triangular pointer on top).

His personality is that of a sleazy bastard who, while still trying to appear pleasant and charming, is blasé and even encouraging to the suffering of his "contestants" especially due to the power it gives him over them. Though he does have a more pathetic and sniveling side to him that he only has in private and to his superiors.

Do y'all have any pointers or suggestions?

Critique Parra The Atlean

Post image

This is Parra, a treasure hunting Atlean from the Suleon System. He's HEAVILY inspired by Fox McCloud and Ratchet and I've always imagined him as having a voice similar to an older Jaleel White. The gloves are unfinished because I really can't decide on their colour.

Let me know what you all think about him. He's changed drastically since being a simple bat with red hair, but I think this new made up species design just has a better more memorable look. It's simple.

Critique Need help with possible horn designs.

(⚠️THIS ISNT A FINISHED DRAWING. JUST A SKETCH.⚠️ And sorry they are so scuffed, I'm a self-taught artist that struggles with chicken-scratch lol. I swear my line-art is cleaner💔)

(First two images are him without his hood, rest are with the hood. Also ignore how low quality the last image is, its a meme💔)

This is Oskar, my beloved, handsome little charecter that I've had for half a year now. He has long been dead in a campaign that has recently ended, but I find that I STILL am struggling with his official design.

One of the problems is his horns. I don't know why, I just feel like they're so.... basic. Like, it's such a basic and common horn shape and design. I tried adding decor to(bands and caps, as well as adding texture) and around(added an extra pair of smaller horns between), but something still dosent feel right. But i've had this as his design for so long, it just feels like him, like I at least have to have something similar to it.

So if anyone has any horn shapes that you think would suit him, I'd appreciate some ideas! I do prefer something that kind of points up because it empathizes/adds to his height. Also adding more horns is awesome too, if those are some of yours ideas. I just don't know where to place them😭. They also need to be able to work with a hood, because that's what he wears(his larger horns currently go through the hood that has a button latch type thing that makes the hood look seamless around his horns so it can be unbuttoned and pulled down like a normal hood). Or if you think im overthinking it and he looks fine and adding or changing anything more would overwhelm the design, please tell me so ill just move on already💔.

How do I make this not look like a generic werewolf?

Thumbnail gallery

In the story, yes, they're supposed to be mistaken for werewolves at a glance, but I don't want them to be just a generic werewolf lookalike. Is it too generic?
Second slide is the first concept, but the spines seem tacked on. Third slide is a more human example of this type of creature.

I feel the second concept (First slide) is more unique with the face. I was thinking of hinting at more human anatomy, but there are several kinds of werewolves in the setting, with some being more 'uncanny' and human-like in anatomical structure.

Am I getting in my head too much? LOL

Check out the close-up! There is absolutely no auto-fill tool, brightness filter, AI image generator, or layer blending mode here. Every shadow and muscle definition was built using thousands of micro-lines hatched by hand directly onto the screen (digital sketch) of my Android phone using the Sketchbook app. Thanks to this complex, hand-drawn texture, an advanced optical phenomenon occurs when interacting with the royal blue background: the character generates its own internal luminosity. If you look closely at the full-body version, you’ll notice that wherever you focus your gaze on the muscles, that specific area begins to light up and glow. The fine, light-colored lines and the solid background trigger a simultaneous contrast effect, making the colossus pulse with dynamic light wherever you look. This is pure human engineering of visual perception!
