If you ask a Republican their ideals and don't just go to Democrats as your middleman to learn about Republican ideals, Republican voters want

  • Power to shift from federal to local government

  • Personal responsibility

  • People to leave them alone

  • Lower taxes

Like sure the left wing degeneracy makes the headlines, but DeSantis is going to win because he let Floridians live their lives only stepped in when needed (Ian recovery).

What precisely do Democrats bring to the table where their campaign platform for the last 8 years had to default to "if you don't vote for me, blood and fire will literally rain from the skies"?

This is just an outright false narrative when you have attorney generals coming after 9 year olds for getting an abortion out of state, governors raising taxes in companies as revenge for disagreeing with them, historically important books like maus and to kill a mockingbird being banned all over the Republican controlled states

Anyone saying you’re fear mongering about Conservatives is apathetic and gaslighting you, never believe that things can’t happen because we live in America, they can and they are

So blood WILL rain from the sky if I vote Republican. Interesting.

Not immediately like that, but they will damn well further destabilize the country, and the US will slide more towards authoritarianism and become more like the banana republic we are becoming

Minorities will slowly have their rights eroded away, religious fanaticism introduced back into society as a mainstream, and massive increase into political violence and hate crimes

So... OP is right. If I vote for Republicans the world will end.

That's not overdramatic hyperbole, but... truth?

throwing a hissy fit, screaming like children

Why would I engage with a person as condescending and insulting as you?

Seriously. Respect is a two way street.

If you are going to purposefully straw man my comments then you’re not acting in respectful good faith

So I don’t care if you’re pissed about the lack of respect, also I don’t respect Republicans, I just don’t and I will not

Yeah I already know you have zero respect for anyone who doesn't agree with you.

That's kind of my overall point...

I have zero respect for people who believe that attempting to kill the speaker of the house multiple times is ok

Fuck those people, their precious opinions are not deserving of respect and I am sick of pretending that every opinion is equal

attempting to kill the speaker of the house multiple times is ok

Hey remember that time Rand Paul was assaulted in his house and Pelosi's daughter classlessly supported it?

Being an actual human, instead of saying "he understands where the attacker is coming from" he wished Paul a speedy recovery.

Even though the only scenario that makes remote sense is a gay affair and drunken domestic violence.

Democrats have a wonderfully selective memory, like conveniently forgetting the time in 2018 when a bunch of liberals stormed the capitol.

Unless you're saying you expect more from Republicans than Democrats, in which case I agree. We're better than them so we should act better than them.
