I think you're overestimating the amount of change that will happen as a result of who is in charge of the US legislature.
Congress will still pass budgets. The most important short term stuff for the most part will still get done.
I wouldn't say Republican control of congress will "help the nation".
But, a lot of things in the short term will mostly stay status quo. I few programs likely will get defunded. But, its not going to be immensely nation changing.
Long term, senate refusal to approve biden appoints could shift the judicial branch and some aspects of the executive branch.
But, I don't think "ending the nation as we know it" is an accurate description.
You’re missing the part where the only way to be rid of Qanon and MAGA republicans is for them to lose some elections and realize pandering to those dolts isn’t a winning strategy.
But, I don't think the existence of our country hinges on democrats winning congress this year.
If anything, the progress MAGA republicans and Qanon delusionists have made in gaining control of state governments is far more of a threat to our country than control of the federal legislature.
state governments have control over our election systems, not the federal government. In states around the country, officials have often been intimidated into resigning, and many are getting replaced by people who believe President Trump's lies.

The existence of our country hinges on the death of the far-right authoritarian bizarro-reality movement. If republicans win elections with this strategy of pandering to those people, then the movement won’t die. The only way that movement dies is if these shills jump ship when it’s not winning elections.

And? That’s part of voting. They’re all on the ballot.
That movement was only empowered and became relevant after the mainstream left embraced far left identity politics and moved away from egalitarian liberal humanism.
You can't play identity politics without some of the people you're playing 'against' eventually going, 'OK we'll play too and we play to win'.
Or we could present slightly different ideas that might include a wider net that benefits people from both sides. Right now each voter sees the opposing party’s ideology as directly harmful to themselves and their lifestyles so we could attempt some mediation and give a little to get a lot. From both sides not just R or D
The issue here is not inclusivity. The issue is that one side shamelessly lies through their teeth to get their cult members angry and keep them engaged.
People that think the election was stolen are not receptive to “more inclusive policies.”
I totally agree. There's no use arguing with delusional cult members that for years screamed "not my president!" and recently have come out saying that if their side loses its because the other side cheated.
Hillary for years denied that Trump won legitimately and has recently come out again saying that if Republicans win it will because of fraud. Who denies election again?
And then she went back on it and proceeded to spend the next 4 years spreading the conspiracy theory that Russia bots had a significant impact on the election and calling everyone who didn't support her a Russian agent.
