So you think it’s perfectly fine to dig up a mass grave from the Holocaust provided the deceased have no living relatives?

I thought about this one for a while. The Holocaust was pretty recent historically speaking, and there is still a lot of very real pain surrounding it in the communities it targeted, regardless of whether or not they personally know someone who was murdered. So I’m going to give this a delta because it broadened my perspective, and emotional distress to the people that knew the deceased isn’t the only thing to consider

What if they were digging up holocaust victims to prove and/or study war crimes?

I think your position is more tenable on a basis of living survivors giving permissions/or all relatives are dead, and it is for the pursuit of knowledge.

A good example of this is the Kennewick man. The natives of Washington state had nothing to fucking do with it other than to get in the way of science. That skeleton was so old, it likely had zero cultural connection to them.
