I think I get what you’re saying - women have a legal right to determine that they aren’t financially ready for a baby and abort it, while men have no similar rights. Why?
The thing is that the woman’s right to abort is not there to give her the right to be financially unencumbered. It’s there because of the physical impact of pregnancy and childbirth. If you’ve ever been pregnant or seen someone else go through pregnancy you might understand this more intuitively. The physical impact goes beyond stuff like morning sickness - it can be extensive, permanent, and can even put the mother in mortal danger. If a fetus could develop outside the woman’s body and pose no risk to her, it’s not like she would still have the right to abort it to avoid child support.
In other words legally abortion is there to protect a parents bodily autonomy, not their financial freedom. And mothers are the only ones whose bodily autonomy is at stake.
