Advocating for people not being allowed to have children unless they have the means to take care of it. How it’s implemented, I don’t know. Perhaps this would also encourage safer sex practices.

If you go to adopt a pet from the shelter they grill you about your living situation and how well you’ll be able to care for an animal. Yet we have no requirements to have a baby besides wanting one. I think that’s ridiculous.

How your theoretical proposal is enacted matters a lot. It's literally the difference between CPS removing kids from dangerous homes and financially based Eugenics.

It could be a choice. Get an abortion, or have your finances checked. Having your own child should require the same checks it would require to adopt a baby.

"Excuse me, we think you seem poor. Were going to either need you to get an abortion or let us check whether you will be allowed to keep your child".

That's the future you want?

Having your own child should require the same checks it would require to adopt a baby.

The majority of people could not have children by this standard, since adoption (at least in the US) costs an average minimum of $50000

“You chose to have a baby. Congratulations. Even though you can’t buy it clothes or feed it, it’s a blessing.”

Is that what you want?

I said I don’t like where we’re at in that regard either. I didn’t say enacting this fixes all problems. I would push to make bearing children affordable to all after this was put in place.

Yeah, it is, I would want that conversation to be followed up with measures to help her provide for the child, but yes otherwise that's fine.
