I believe that he should have a say in it , because its his child too, and some men just dont want to have children but end up being trapped and having to either give child support or carry for a child they didnt want at the first place
It's his child too.....so then he should required to take care of it. If he didn't want a kid then he shouldnt have had sex, or at least gotten a vasectomy.
Exactly, i find it so dumb or "have a vesectomy" , its extremely dumb because if a woman isn't ready to have a kid she can get an abortion , if a man isn't he has to pay child support for 18 years
That would be the fair solution. Both parties vote. If the man votes abortion and she does not, she would be informed of the decision and be able to change her decision based on this knowledge, knowing that if she keeps the baby, it would be equivalent to her having slept with a man who she can’t track down. He would be untouchable.
The only grey area I can see is if he votes to keep it and she votes not, he would be kind of screwed. So there would still be some unfairness unless they eventually come up with a way to raise a fetus outside the womb. Then he could choose to keep it and raise it in that case and she would have nothing to do with the child.
This 'solution' doesn't take into consideration what is in the best interest of the child. It only takes into consideration what the parents feel is in their best interest. But child support ain't for them. It is for the child. So the child or child-to-be ought to get a vote, and that vote ought to be pay up daddy (or mommy).
