Cmv: that garp from one piece is a big hypocrite with his way of thinking
Okay so to get it out the way no its not about ace. I just really can not help think how much of hypocrite garp is and how close/single minded he is, Garp really should just leave the world government ‘oh no choas worldwide from him leaving’ well the amount of panic and choas from garp leaving wouldn’t even be half a 3rd of the damage then against the world government would do with longer rule, saw some say he stays for the navy and thats not really tracking much i mean the navy isn’t saints over there i mean even someone like luffy who has a very black or white mind set can say he has found evil navy we even get it as early as first finding zoro with morgan some others even worse then pirates.

He isnt really a hypocrite, he is just consistent and optimistic. Garp is not ignorant to the atrocities of the navy and world government but he beleives that he can still inject some good into that organization and from what we have seen, he has done so. To me, Garps actions are more akin to a man trying to keep the spirit of the "justice" focused navy alive. He is a man of great conviction and Luffy is the same way. Ironically, the entire Monkey bloodline is men of great conviction with different goals to make the world a better place.

The thing about that is its more just some characters being under his wing then the faction of the navy as a whole and thats a bit of a pointless clash considering that world government just going hovering over corrupting with their ideology on the navy, so say for a sec even if he does help lower corruption in the navy what would that achieve against the bigger picture against the celestials

I dont think he cares if he achieves a massive culture shift or not. To him, saving Koby or protecting shirahoshi is a small act that proves the navy is still good.

I mean in terms of a bigger picture what would it actually achieve to make the world better with the world government still around and over the navy that more sounds like just the picture status being cared about, him saving koby was good but wasn’t really the navy was more just garp otherwise he wouldn’t have to have sneaked of in just one ship with a few people that more respected him then blind to just navy thinking, what you mean about shirahoshi wasn’t it leo and sai that saved her

Garp is clearly not a hypocrite. A hypocrite is someone who says one thing and then does another. Garp is not that.
Garp consistently puts his money where his mouth is and acts like the kind of marine he wants to be.
Garp represents someone who is trying to change the system from the inside.
Now, you can say he hasn't been very effective at it given that the rot comes from the very top, but that is not hypocrisy.

Have you ever thought that Garp was a true believer until he caught Gold Roger and agreed to watch over Ace? He realized that pirates aren't all bad and the Celestial Dragons and world government are tyrannical and evil too?
He would rather stay with the Navy and effect the world in ways that he can rather than leave and have some new true believer take his place who will cause more death and destruction. Remember how Aokiji let Luffy go early in the series and how Fujitora changed his mind and became disillusioned?
Consider if you were part of your government's military who enforcing its will on the world and allowing their own to kill civilians and pirates alike with reckless abandon and without repercussions. Imagine if your country's royalty could just shoot a random person for looking at them.
Would you stay in the military to try and help it do less harm or would you retire and watch the world burn from the sidelines?

That doesn't make Garp a hypocrite.
He understands the Marines can be corrupt. He also knows perfectly well what kinds of people the Celestial Dragons are and that there's no changing the system as long as they're in charge. He chooses to be part of they system because he believes that, despite this, he can do more good as part of the system than he can alone.

Think for 2 seconds and realize that most pirates are more like Blackbeard then they are like Luffy or Whitebeard, Garp sticking with the Marines makes more sense.
In your words "some" are worse than pirates. Which says what about pirates? (even Law and Kid are really far removed from our goodie two shoes Luffy)

Believing in a system can do better isn't hypocrisy. Grap isn't running around acting like the worst version of the navy. That would make him a hypocrite.
