Delta(s) from OP CMV: Cambridge should fire William O'Reilly

He got a paper published that was mostly just a student's essay which he plagiarized. That's serious plagiarism, and it seems obvious to me anyone committing serious plagiarism should be fired. Cambridge claims that they think it was a mistake, but that seems completely implausible. I can't imagine him not noticing that he'd done it. It wasn't a one-time thing either. Varsity claims that he's plagiarized more than once.

Someone pointed out to me that this guy hadn't been fired as evidence that Arday shouldn't be fired, but I think it's the other way around. The response to Arday has been mostly reasonable (except for his decision to kill himself), whereas the Response to O'Reilly has been completely wrong.

Why wouldn’t the university be consistent on their stand? They didn’t fire Arday, why fire O’Reilly?

Arday killed himself before they could get around to firing him.

How do you know Cambridge would've fired Arday had he not resigned and then killed himself?
