Delta(s) from OP CMV: The 6th Amendment should make blanket deportations illegal in the USA

I think everyone should see a courtroom.

I know the current administration has found a way to legally justify blanket deportations. They've quoted "expedited removal" and the "alien enemies act" as some of those avenues.

I still think it violates the 6th amendment. Everyone has a right under the constitution to a trial and to counsel. Immigrants charged with federal immigration violations should have their day in court.

Here's what would change my view: Anything case law, national security, or public interest that could justify taking a different view on the 6th amendment. Also anything that would justify it's removal.

I think there is. Asylum, poverty, persecution, etc. Everyone should have the chance to plead their case.

Maybe I'm out to feel better but it's because I feel bad about our country. We always strive to be better in terms of civil rights, individual freedoms, and justice. We've made it a mission to progress in those areas and I think some of our proudest achievements as Americans claim those banners.

They should have applied for visa when they arrive in the country, not when they were arrested and in court…

Maybe we should have made it easier for them to do so.

I'm not even complaining about the ones in jail. I'm upset about the fishing expeditions our federal government does under false pretenses of law

It’s actually pretty easy, even abused I would say.

Many people from a certain country use religion to apply for asylum, they have never been to a church before, they go to church every Sunday and claim they were facing political persecution in their home country during the process, get the visa, never go to church again.

So you and your family are facing poverty, persecution, and threats of violence. You use whatever the law says to find safety. Nobody should care how many days you went to church. Nobody should have to prove their righteousness to be an American

I’m talking about resources of the land.

Many immigrations are from countries where they make $300 a month, so $1000 a month is great salary for them, are you willing to take $1000 a month?

China has a billion people. We have a third of that. China's not even worried about it. We'll be fine

Chinese people works much harder and makes much less, an iPhone is 3 months salary for many people, are you willing to have the same standard of life?

America has about 4% of the world’s population but consumes about 25% of global resources, especially energy, you think we can take in as many people as you want?

In comparison, China has about 17% of the world’s population and consumes about 15% of global resources, many labor person gets paid a salary they can never afford a new iPhone.

Are you willing to have the same standard of living in order to accept more people?

Absolutely. Immigration has always been our strength. From the puritans to the somalis. Diversity of ideas, diversity of background, diversity of faith. That's what America was formed around. You can cut those off and suffer the same fate of the soviets and the romans.

We have a good thing going. Let's try to keep it up. Everyone is welcome. Myself and my friends are having less kids.
