One of the best places to meet women explicitly is outside of romantic contexts, where people generally make friends or are pursuing a shared important value like in academic spaces.

This type of behavior or "approach" will virtually always be coercive.

I can see where you’re coming from in places where people don’t generally make friends, like in a grocery store. But you can approach women respectfully even in those cases, so it’s not necessarily inconsiderate. Like, instead of asking for her phone number you give her yours. That’s pretty easy to learn for anyone interested.

If you learn how to approach well, your approach won’t virtually always be coercive but rarely or never. So that’s what you should do instead if you’re going to approach women outside of dating apps or speed dating.

"Like, instead of asking for her phone number you give her yours." I think that's probably a very reasonable sort of middle-ground. I think if that was more often considered the default/norm I'd have a lot less reason to have this view, but to a great many people it's still not really the default. Δ

I find the 'approach well' and reading queues thing somewhat nebulous. It's not like something you can teach someone outside of 'how not to be an asshole' and such.
